Bush re-election machinery warming up?

I just got a fund raising letter with a signed pic of the president 'n 1st lady. I am not sure if they are randomly sending it to people, or if I got it due to my involvement with fundraisers for W in 2000.

has anyone else received it?

Yep

well they have to spend all those millions somewhere.. what better way to start than to start giving back to the economy.. i hope they have more grassroots types of campaigning then just TV ads.. that way the money spreads around a little than go back to the corporations it came from.

I hope they over-heat!

Out of curiosity what's the minimum donation they would accept?

The dinner plate costs $1000 but I am sure they will take anything.

depends on the fundraiser. fundraisers where other senior republicans attend, the cost could be quite low. but events where W is speaking the cost is $1K/head. aside from that u can support by sending in whatever amount u want..with some limitations..I never had to worry about the max limit so never really looked at that.

ah i see. $1k/head.

Thanks, was just curious.

I hope mine is in the mail as I need something to line my bird cage with.

^ lol

the picture of the Bush and 1st lady Laura looked real, but a closer look revealted that it wasnt. The letter came a couple of weeks ago, was sitting somewhere on my desk. Almost had a thought of scanning this pic, but forgot. Just took the trash out yesterday and now its lying somewhere in the city dump :D

Sorry, what do you mean - that the picture was digitally created ?

well they did waste it sending to me, unless W can tell ppl to finalize my citizenship like over the next few months, I will be unable to vote until the next presidential election.

5Abi sis right, the pic is very low quality and is not a "picture" but a print on a thicker paper really. W should fire whoever came up with this idea.

That’s how those little fundraiser pics always are.. I used to get all that crap. I think they lost track of me after moving around. But, yeah, I knew some nuts that really got off on that stuff.. they’d be bragging about getting an autographed pic/Christmas card/etc.. “look at it, it’s a print” :smack:

Although millions are being spent on the Bush relection campaign, his support base is shrinking..

BEACHWOOD, Ohio — In the 2000 presidential election, Bill Flanagan a semiretired newspaper worker, happily voted for George W. Bush. But now, shaking his head, he vows, “Never again.” “The combination of lies and boys coming home in body bags is just too awful,” Mr. Flanagan said, drinking coffee and reading newspapers at the local mall. “I could vote for Kerry. I could vote for any Democrat unless he’s a real dummy.”

Mr. Flanagan is hardly alone, even though polls show that the overwhelming majority of Republicans who supported Mr. Bush in 2000 will do so again in November. In dozens of random interviews around the country, independents and Republicans who said they voted for Mr. Bush in 2000 say they intend to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate this year. Some polls are beginning to bolster the idea of those kind of stirrings among Republicans and independents. …
