Bull Torturting in Spain

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

chorni thanks for the link but i was more interested in the bear video from pakistan, as I really cant do anythign about Spain, but certainly can (and should as a pakistani) do something about whats happening in Pakistan, perhaps use some influence over friends and relatives, so that we all can do what we can to stop this barbaric treatment.

Anyone who lives in or has lived in Islamabad probably knows about the Pirs of Golra (near F-11). They always have these big dogs who fight each other every weekend. Some students recently protested against that, and a General who was very close to the pirs of golra convinced them to stop that tamasha, and it worked.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

the link for bear does work and in it they said they have made it illegal since 1998 and WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) has worked with Pakistan to get these bears off the street and get them to safe places. I spoke to my dad about it and he was very angry about it as well and said it’s the peers who usually do this. It’s so sad  and yep insh’Allah i hope if we all can take the time to inform others and make them aware of the torture these animals go through, it would definetly help them stop these acts.

I hope enough people can do the same in Spain, because it’s just horrific and I am very disappointed at the fact that there’s usually a huge crowd who applauds and doesn’t even flintch at the site of this animal being tortured.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

it was more so for the pakistani bears. :S

Chorni, I did watch the videos, its just SO WRONG.
Animals serve one purpose in the hereafter, Revenge. And they will get their time to inflict the same pain if not more on these people.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

^ its a simple thing that can easily be taken care of and particularly in the bigger cities they are doing a good job rounding up the poachers, but its the villages and smaller cities, the answer isnt changing laws, its enforcing them, and its always difficult to enforce them in rural areas be it shariah or whatever other law there is.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

spain used to be under muslim rule Alhamdulilah and will be again in the future Insha'ALLAH...

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

but why though? why don't these laws prevent them from doing it even in rural areas? i guess it's due to the rishwat khors, money talks and they can do anything they want. if they had strict laws and people to take out those laws properly it would be possible there as well

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

Its actually a worldwide problem, laws are harder to implement in rural areas. I wouldnt blame rishwat or money though. Its just that usually law enforcement in villages and rural areas isnt given a top priority because they are considered less important due to a higher population residing in cities. Also, for instance its harder to monitor villagers and how they deal with animals, as its an everday thing for them. There are often occasions where villagers group together everytime the local thana tries to do anything. I once spoke to a guy who was in the forestation comission and was trying to arrest villagers in the murree region who were cutting down trees. He admitted that once he almost got hit by an axe by an infuriated villager who used to burn trees and then cut them down to avoid getting caught by him, and when he finally did this is how he reacted.

In our case, lack of education be be blamed for animal abuse, clearly its the uneducated tabqa thats involved in it. With education, it will go away, however I cant say the same for 'Spain'.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

i guess so, but then again im sure if there's that good amount of villagers who are "for" such acts there is a good chunk of others who are against this torture and they with the law enforcers should stand up against them. in case of Spain i think it's the fault of the audience who applaud and pay to go and see them butcher and abuse these bulls.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

chorni, I once saw this dog muqabla in Golra Sharif (near Islamabad), the dogs were huge, and scary, and it was so disturbing to see how people were cheering and enjoying the matchup. Most of them were illiterate people with no other entertainment available to them. However, since that area was in close proximity to inland Islamabad it has stopped now (atleast thats what I was told). I guess my point is, if the audience goes/fades away, so does the show.

All of us should support the people/bodies working for animal rights. When I was in grade 7, we succesfully launched a 'save the hobara buster' campaign against the rich arabs from the UAE who came and hunted that bird in Pakistan, which was dangerously close to being extinct (Imran Khan helped too). However nowadays I do not see the same commitment or vigor for support from the people like how it was in the past.

Re: Bull Torturting in Spain

Spoke, i totally agree. I am not sure about Pakistan but I have checked the WSPA website and it’s nice that they’ve opened up sanctuaries for these poor bears and they’re accomplishing alot. but yes it definetly has to do with the audiences, even for bullfighting i read that out of the 6 bullfights people only stay for 1 or 2 because they can’t take wut goes on there but then again they’ve already payed for the tickets and have supported it and made it go on.

But yea i found a Petition, it would be nice if people could sign it and show that they are against such horrendous acts.
