Re: Brushing your teeth
Before breakfast is not needed ( but you can do whatever you like) if one did proper cleaning the night before. Just rinsing the mouth may be enough.
If bad breath persists, then night time brushing/cleaning was not properly done and your teeth have been damaged at night already.
There are other reasons for morning bad breath like acidity/reflux etc.
Regarding bad breath in morning or bacterial growth you mentioned, it will not be possible if brushing is done properly for at least 2 minutes (with flossing or mouth wash as a complement) at night.
ADA recommends two times at least to brush teeth, one is at night. Other cannot be before breakfast.
For after meal brushing, certain food items may be more harmful (acidic/orange juice or soda drinks) for teeth enamel so first rinse thoroughly and at times wait for 30 min before brushing.
