yeah but a targeted search at a train station or something doesnt uncover a mass murderer now does it !!!! and yes action is taken against drunk drivers it depends on how the person is driving.. cops cant really tell if the person is white or brown when before they pull em over can they...

Nothing wrong with stop and search. People that have done nothing wrong have nothing to fear. Yes, it will be a little inconvenient. But due the actions of some ‘south asians’ these measure need to be taken. At least the British are doing something to protect its citizens. Good on them :k:

This move has now been opposed by Police officials themselves, I forgot the link to bbc site, may be someone else can search for it where, Met official opposed this move saying it will make things bad to worst. As I mentioned above, he reference that according to Article 44, Police already has sufficient powers to stop & search anyone if an officer apprehends any suspicious activity or behaviour.
Protection of citizens can also put some of the citizens in serious un-ease only because their physical apprearance (colour of skin) is something being targetted or suspected. Not a good idea. I'd oppose this bill, it will create or widen the gulf between communities and will not do any good between many communities & Police.
