I beg to differ. As an American, living in London and living here for years and basically sharing both American and British “cultures” and ways of life, I can tell you that British in general sense like the American accent. I have noticed here that when Brits come across Americans here in UK - there are two responses. One negetive and one postive - positive meaning that they are in awe and are like “Wow, youre American thats freakin’ awesome” and they wanna be your new best friend and they think youre the best thing since sliced bread. Negetive thing is the notion that Brits think that Americans think they are better then everyone else (not true) and because of this, Brits go out of their way to be unhelpful/nasty/ etc and have the attitude to say that “I dont care that you are American and just because you think you are better then me (we dont think that) doesnt mean your are, and I will do everything possible to make sure that you are not acknowledged by me, just because you are American”… I as an American have come across this many a times. Its like marmite. You either hate it or love it. I find majority Americans I come across and know dont really care for the British accent… I personally hate the London accent, especially the “innit” and how they pronounce “water” and that “oh my dayz” expession - i hate teenage london accent.
ummm dont mean to be funny but had to ask .. you sure you living in UK wala london?? coz we brits hate american accent … why do you think we make fun of amrika and their bushy bush
