Both Taufeeq and Farhat played well today, so I suppose that they will be opening in the test on friday.

I think that would be a good combo to try, Taufeeq could provide the sheet anchor role and Farhat the flair. Mind, Taufeeq's not slow to punish bad balls either. Eventually I would expect to see Salman Butt alongside Farhat, I think they would provide us with a very talented and exciting opening pair. I want to see these two open in all 5 ODI's against New Zealand, after that we should have a great idea whether they have got what it takes.
Not one good innings, he said played many, he has without any doubts been the best batsman in the world for the past two and half years.
Look @ his record, it can’t be matched by any.
Even Lara.
THe left-handed guns have delivered the goods. A hundred run opening partnership against quality opposition. Imran Farhat got impatient and got out on 41 but now it’s time for the selectors to show the same patience they did with Mohammed Hafeez. He has plenty of talent, now he just needs to be taught that he can take his time and the runs will come.
Taufeeq once again backing up those who have consistently championed him with yet another innings full of flair, determination and true grit. those who have called for this gutsy player to be dropped in the past should hang their heads in shame. This lad always stands up to be counted and at international level that is what counts above all else.
Go on lad, make a hundred and ram all those critics words right back down their throats with that left-handed bat :k:
Guys i watched all of today's opening batting stand between Taufeeq and Farhat and let me tell you getting back to back centurey opening stands is no fluke. What agreat pair these two looked today, Taufeeq taking 2 or 3 blows to the body but once again standing like a ROCK unbeaten on 61 at the end. Farhat matured a lot from his last innings and played much more measured today, crashing the ball through the covers and square whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Both guys are very positive and don't look over-awed and the communication was great from start to finish. These two should be our opening pair from now on, no question. Asim Kamal also looks the part and with Salman Butt also waiting in the wings things look a lot better than a week ago.
Hes great, only thing he needs is keep his cool. Last inning he got out because he was in a hurry trying to hit every other ball, “hit it hard” and today again he got out because he was impatient. Only if he can maintain his patience I am sure we will see a lot more century stands between these two :k:
He was playing great today, the only reason he got out was because the batsmen decided to try and finish the game tonight otherwise he was having no problems. He batted very well today and stood up to the pressure well. He does go for his shots outside off stump but the difference with Hafeez is that he's good enough to hit them. You wouldn't see him wafting at thin air 4 balls in a row.
Imran and Taufeeq look to be a natural opening pair and let's hope they both get the support that two century opeining stands in one match deserve.
