So, apparently, there’s a practice in Chechnya, where women are often kidnapped and then forced to marry their kidnappers to preserve “family honor”. This is itself is barbaric enough, but there’s more. Often the traumatized victims, who slip into depression are brought to local imams for exorcism!

Actually, this was/is also practiced in the sub-continent and also Pakistan. There was even a movie about it. I think it was called “Pinjar”.
