^ oooh, look at the pretty colors in the last pic!!

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

i loveee annika rucci shes awsome but way too over priced

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

Am not that rich compared to the real elite class.... lol... perhaps neither are you lovely folks!

Anyway, you all raise interesting points regarding the price but at the same time, none of you said the bags were crap... I suppose one has to consider - these bags are to keep forever! Think of it as an investment - the price of everything 'good' continues to rise - Gucci bags, diamoands, gold, designer jorrahs, jeans, electricity, petrol etc. AR bags are made overseas, using Austrian crystals & other imported parts. The bags themselves are now priced in USD - with the PKR is falling, it makes for everything abroad expensive. What used to be USD100 is only now USD 110 but because of the Rupee devaulation, the item went up, instead of 10%, from Rp6000 -> Rp8000! I'm glad I bought early!!

So the question is, how much is the right price? Even ziggy said the stuff was great but didn't say 'they were NOT worth the price.'

I guess I don't need 100 bags. I'd rather acquire a few top-of-the-line items that would make a statement and has some shelf-life rather than a few cheap throwaways. I met with other buyers at the different exhibitions (Lahore & Karachi) who shared their reasons - they all helped me make my decision to plonker down the cash... By the way, there is a wide range of bags and I bought from from very cheap to a little pricey (Rp6,000 to 35,000). Thought I'd share them with you...

  • I want a collection like my mother-in-law. She's got a fabulous range accumulated over many years. Her advice is buy a GREAT bag that NEVER goes out of style and keep using it!
  • I'd rather buy a good bag I can reuse over many years than one expensive jorah that I can use a few times before it goes out of fashion.
  • We are 5 sisters & 15 (female) cousins - we share everything!
  • I'm getting a jewellery bag for my daughter who's getting married in a few months and cut-down on the cost of her main jorah. She'll have something from her wedding she can reuse!
  • Getting an excellent bag that can go with Pakistani & Western events is an investment (girl from New York)
  • The prices of these bags are much cheaper than in Dubai and New York. Why should I buy there when I can pay in Rupees locally and only have to lug it home in my car (jet set socialite)
  • When I buy Annika, I know it's either a step ahead of the upcoming fashion and I get the best possible design (super elite) .... etc.

So my question is, how much do you think is expensive? And do you really think you're in her targetted audience?

If you haven't been, you have to go, if only to see!

How much do you think her bags cost? Have you ever been to any of her exhibitions? And what's your price range?

It says you're from London - how much are high-end full swarovski crystal bags from a leading label? Or even from Green Street?

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

are they paying you desigirl?
$1200.00 for a single clutch is definitely not worth it. That was the price of the one that I liked. I cannot justify spending that kind of money on a clutch no matter how exquisite it is.

Re: Mother of all wedding bags…

yeah. and then 2 years down the road you can’t re-use the $1200 clutch because that’s not what’s in fashion anymore. $1200 well spent :phati:

and i seeeeeeeeeeeeriously doubt this annika rucci is from london or italy or wherever she says she is from. probably some aunty in pakistan who picked a name randomly to sell her product. marketing ladies.

Lolz… :hehe:

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

lol you can invest that 1200 in gold or some precious jewel/stone and keep THAT forever.

haha!

i didnt meet her in person, but i called her and her voice is heavily ladden with a desi accent, so definitely a local.

:stuck_out_tongue:

hunz my cousins have been to her exhibition and wht they told me was the real nice bags prices are around £500-£600 and I dnt think I would ever pay tht much for a CLUTCH–I would rather have a nice piece of jewellary or take a short holiday somewhere in Europe :jano:

Lol... paying me? Good grief! No way. I haven't paid for the US$1200 clutch but I have seen it and can better understand the price range. Tell me, have you ever shopped at Harrods? I saw the most 'plain' looking evening bag there in January at GBP 700 and apparently they were selling like hotcakes. What can I say about pricing?

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

for $1200, i'd rather buy a more useful, "all-round, every day, super luxurious with great details and soft leather" bag instead. at least you'd get a lot more usage out of something like a classic Coach bag vs a fancy, crystal-studded clutch that you'd only carry with you once in a while, and which probably would be so memorable, you wouldn't be able to use it more than a few times.

Re: Mother of all wedding bags...

Ladies... the whole point of this thread is not about my vote. I was curious to YOUR picks as I'd like to see what else there is on offer in Pakistan. No-one has stated her preference so this bashing activity on prices is a little strange to me. Suprised, as well, by the moderator not picking this up either... hmmm...

So, what's your vote? Chanel? Gucci? Rodo? Jimmy Choo? Nine West? Surely you can do better than bashing on about the same thing...

But how many people do you personally know who actually spend that much amount for a harrods bag?

Have you ever been to an exhibition to SEE the product? No one seems to be fessing up to ever seeing a bag in real life! I’m finding this amazing… Anyway, the question is what bag would you carry if you were a bride?

Why are you attacking the seller? What’s the point of that? This such typical Pakistani behaviour and rather disappointing on this post… something that was not being asked for. Why so much ‘negativity’?

Now I am convinced that you have been paid for it :p

That’s great that your cousins went. Have YOU been? If not, then all of this is secondhand info. Not sure, by the way which one was the £500-£600. The reason I ask is I picked up the B&W crystal bag for Rp 35k which was among the most expensive - and that’s less than GBP300 with the going rate. What did I miss?!!

Again, the question is what bag would you pick if you were a bride?

Again, why do you keep 'accusing' me of being paid when you're on the rampage? Just amazing. The point of the thread is I'd like to know what are the 'good bridal bags' out there. No-one has offered me a single suggestion, including yourself! I hardly think that as I banker I need more $ from a silly job as referring handbags. But you go ahead and criticise and attack the posts instead of offering your pick - that sounds like it's easier.

Thank you for offering YOUR insight here - you're the ONLY one who answered the question on this post...
