Re: BRIDAL PICS.

^ Thats an engagement???? I wanna c the wedding!

Re: Bridal Pics

Ohh I love her jewellery

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

Personally, I think thats too much for an engagement, she's dressed like a bride. It would have been better if she'd kept it low key, or wore a sari instead of a bridal lengha.

Even something as simple as placing the dupatta on her shoulder would have been better.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

wow that dress is beautiful!
i can't believe she wore that just for the engagement :O!

i am guessing Kundan in Lahore...its apparently the oldest boutique of pakistan...very low key.. i recently found out about it thru mom..(its owned by my dad's puphu or something....(i think)...

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

drop dead gorgeous the first set of pics :hayaa: and i know which hall’s the second one :cb:

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

those are lovely pics! chanda_kh your cousin's white lehnga is very beautiful, did she have that custom made?

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

there were over 100 people invited.. i think if she had dressed plainer she wouldn't have stood out. you have to dress for the occasion and its formality, you know?

chanda, your cousin's clothes are lovely and she's a beautiful bride! :) i like the shaded bit of her valima jora- its different.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

I don't understand why people where the same pattern head to TOE it looks like they are wearing the whole than of fabric

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

^ that i agree with... she looks really pretty but i think if her kameez had been plain and the dupatta and lehenga patterned, it would have looked a bit more dynamic. the lehenga was from india and i find they do that a lot in indian style but they also have shorter cholis so your belly breaks up the pattern and it doesn't look too hectic. if the kameez is longer, than you get that thaan effect.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

She could still have stood out without looking like a bride. At first glance many people assume its the wedding, therefore I can't understand how she is gonna differntiate between the wedding and the engagment.

100 people in the UK standards fairly low-key, whereas I don't know maybe is the US its considered a large event. Oh well, in my opinion, I think she could have even worn a glamorous dress that didn't resemble a bridal lengha.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

^ fair enough. to each their own.

but from her jewellery and even her dress, i don't think shes nearly as dressed up as she will be at the wedding. her look isn't that bridal, IMO, all shes got is a dressy lehenga with printed material and kaam on the edges, and a small set. and yes she got her hair done, but thats not only what makes a bride. bridal joras are much heavier, bridal sets and makeup are different...she doesn't even have mehendi on! compare her to some of the other brides in this thread and you'll see what i mean.

as for guest list, its all relative. i had 35 people at my engagement and 100 at my wedding, and to me, they were perfect sizes. to you, probably too small. thats not the point- the point is, people perceive the formality of any given occasion by themselves. there are no set rules about how you MUST dress heavier or lighter based on the event... its all relative. probably to them a lighter jora would have been too simple considering the guest list and the formality level they had set for the engagement.
