BRIDAL PICS.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

^huh?

good thing it's halal for them since they are married, yeah?

Hai, at least they are married, no?

I don't understand..? there's lots of pictures like that everywhere. is it about PDA or just the fact that they are touching at all?

what a stupid comment...I dont get it, are you supposed to be sitting 10 miles apart with a frown on your face if you married someone you love? :S

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

pda is not allowed in our culture or mazab..whther ur married or not..it looks cheap..i guess u wouldnt understand this if ur white-washed or western-washed for that matter..so if u dont y did come to a pAKiStanI forum?..y not any other cultures..u want mix both worlds eh?..the beautiful designed dresses of paksitan AnD behayi of the west..well thats not how it works hun

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

soni27, true what you are saying about the culture, but this particular pic isn’t as controversial as some of the stuff you see happening these days :bummer:

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

then maybe i havnt been visiintg here enough..bcs i feel these types of overt poses r mocking our sacred marriage ceremony traditions..

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

These pictures could be from a personal album, we don't know that. Once you're married, you're allowed all of this, and maybe the couple wanted to take pictures like this without the intention of showing it around to the whole world.
Whatever it is, it's their personal life and choice. We are noone to criticize them for their culture values and all that, it's not like all of us are perfect either.

there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that picture. It's perfectly fine and normal....and are you kidding me with this whole culture thing? seems like someones needs to go visit back home asap.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

if this happened back home hun..they d probably have stones thrown at them..i know exactly what happens back home..iv spent a lot of time in pak..maybe u need to go see what happens 'back home'..try public affection at a public event(yes even a shadi! haah..gasp!) in paksitan nd ull get my point if ur not catching on yet

There are all kinds of Muslims from the very religious ones to non practicing ones. Everyone has their way of life, you can't tell others what to do. And there are all different kinds of people on this pakistani forum. Some are very liberal and some are not. And by the way, fusion of cultures brings diversity and tolerance.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

affection between opposite sexes is for reserved for the bedroom OnLy..no where else outisde in public in paksitan dear..its not called tolerance in pkstni culture nor in islam..

there lots of ways to try n explain behaiayi and begairithi and the spreading of it but u cant..so pleez dont try

I don't know what part of pakistan you have lived in, but it's clearly not like that in many areas. I have been to plenty of parties where couples were dancing, hugging, and all sorts of public displays of affection when they aren't married or even seriously committed. It's not uncommon at all, especially not in karachi atleast. There are all different kinds of people here, pakistani culture isn't just "one".
Just flip through local pakistani tv channels and you'll see plenty of non-mehrams getting up close.

-There is no distinct ruling on the boundaries of PDA of a married couple in Islam. Only the general encouragement of modesty, the degree of which, depends solely on the beliefs and preferences of the married couple.

-Not everyone is from the same "culture or madhab" as you, and even then, they aren't necessarily obligated to follow the same views as you.

-The pose in the picture looking "cheap" is your personal opinion and thus doesn't give you license to judge the couple in any way whatsoever, and especially in the name of Allah (SWT) saying things like "astagfurAllah" or "tauba."

-You don't know if the person is white-washed or too westernized just because he/she doesn't agree with your views.

-Everyone is welcome to this public forum, regardless of race or religion. Doesn't mean they're out to destroy someone's culture.

I could go on and on..

Maybe I can post a few pictures from Pakistan or 'back home' to show you how people are there. Not every American or British is 'western washed', people back home are as well.

Re: BRIDAL PICS.

back to the pics.....

haha please tell me what "sacred marriage ceremony traditions" we have besides the actual nikkah. There's singing, dancing, anything that happens in a mayoon pretty much, all of this stuff has NOTHING to do with religion. You need to realize you are not from a "pure" or untouched culture....our culture does not have necessarily only Islamic influences but also Hindu, Persian, and yes, WESTERN. while you might point fingers at this couple and call them beghairat and besharam, if you wear even loose jeans (something also Western) in a town in NWFP, they'd say the same about you.

this wasn't a public event, honey....this was their personal wedding portrait, and in wedding photo shoots, there are all kinds of poses. and its not like they are even making out, its a HUG for goodness sakes. Who even knows where the original poster got it from and whether it was with the permission of the married couple, they might have never meant for anyone else to see it. I think you probably only meet or know people from one social class...some of the Karachiite elites I know do things that would even shock the most liberal of Westerners, so you need to realize the diversity of people's morals in Pakistan.

very pretty

Very Cute MashAllah:)
