^ its a hyderabadi gulubund and usually an heirloom piece. its very traditional and like much vintage heirloom pieces, hard to replicate.
my nani gave the gulubund and earrings to my mom, and i wore them to my wedding, but i've seen other gs girlies with the full on teeka and jhoomar to match too. its really, really intricate and pretty.
Dunt you think it will loose uniqueness if too many brides wear it. I so want to wear it on my wedding. I want a traditional looking jewellery. But im guessing this style of hyderabadi guluband is getting too common. But who knows I might wear something like that.
^ an heirloom piece is never common, IMHO.
but girls who usually wear it do so because either their moms or moms in law have passed it on to them and its a family tradition.
i wore my mom's because i've always loved it and because it was given with love to my mom by her mom and to me by my mom. there's something much more meaningful about that than buying something new but that might just be me :p
^ I agree. I wore one on my wedding day and it was given to me by my mom and it was given to her by my grandmother. I wore the complete set which is rare to find these days: earrings, necklace, teeka, jhoomar and ring. Not only is it gorgeous, but it holds an emotional meaning for me as well.
Girls you are lucky to get such unique stuff as a heirloom. I would have not thought of this thing getting common if I have had it as a hierloom. But I still love it. Cant we just get something made like this and pass it on as hierloom. Im serious. Im sure those who have it wont get violated.
The one that I have as a hierloom has no green but just white. I dunt want to ruin my mom's memory by touching and adding green.
