The color swatch makes no sense. Gloves are a trendy touch, but overall..different. looks like an evening gown type of outfit rather htan a lengha
yea, i think the gloves are actually quite nice (the colour and stuff), i think if her outfit had matched the gloves and had something that made a connection (in terms of style) between them, it would have been a cool outfit.
as far as i know those r all ghararas in the pix!
shararas are like lehngas, wide gehra bt with two legs..kareena kapoor wore a sharara in bole chudiyan song!
ghararas dont have tht much gehra..they look like as the pix above. ghararas have this piece on knees as explained above!
sorry, that’s incorrect- ghararas have a lot more gheyr than a sharara and that is why they are considered more regal and elegant- because of the way the gheyr flows. its sort of meant to look like an a-line ball gown… that is why the vintage gharara’s you see people re-wearing from their great-grandmothers look so royal and graceful. they had a lot of gheyr.
in a farshi gharara, the two-legged split and the gheyr are still there, except the gote is not at the knee, it is mid-calf.
as far as i know, a sharara and a lehenga are the same thing- i.e both are skirts, either a-line or fitted. there is no split in the legs like in the gharara.
maybe i was wrong with the gehr thingi…bt i askd lot of people who knws abt these things..everyone said tht sharara also have two legs..its looks like a lehnga bt wht two legs…once i got a sharara and it was two legged…while standing it looks excactly like a lehnga..bt when u walk u see the splipped leg.
sharara and gharara both have two legs. i got a sharara from hsy for my rukhsati.
a sharara is like a lehenga but with two legs (the bole chooriyan one is a classic example).
there may also be a gote (optional) on the legs, but not necessarily, and their wont be any chunnat (so it will flare out like a bell bottom but without the chunnat seen in the gharara).
a gharara has two legs as well and a gote is always seen. there is a lot of chunnat gathering at the gote.
"farshi" ghararas or lehengas are huge, they trail on the "farsh" and their is usually a gote (for the gharara) and a patti with a heavier border on the lehenga.
the pakistani bridal fashion scene is so extensive, that the list doesnt end there. u can go further into the types of lehengas (all the different cuts, etc) and the dhaka pajamas, which are similar to a sharara but a lot more baggier, more flared (remember pakifairies bridal)
I came back to save the pic that I really liked but it’s gone and has been replaced by this ugly nangi patangi pic- not only that I can’t even eid my own post- what happened here?
