I was wondering - whatever happened to simple MAyoun and Mehndi. I guess when it comes to weddings I am a traditionalist. Not complaining, I love seeing the decor plus fashion at all wedding events, but I guess now I miss the old world charm. Not even a decade ago, brides etc wore none to minimal makeup at Mehndi and simple yet elegant green / gold gota type dresses (just an example). The decor used to be not so much of an emphasis either. Since the last couple years, I just find it a bit over the top these days. And the worst everyone tries to out-dress the bride :-/
To each their own... but I myself would prefer the actual wedding to be a grand event, rest to be simple yet still elegant, nothing over the top.
