Yeah, I think she did it upon request. This was a while back. I thilnk my friend was married in 2003 or 2004. My friend also wore it with her mom's antique sat Lara and the whole look worked really well, I felt.

I really like it when brides wear their mother's/grandma's sets. My best friend wore her MIL's pearl and gold set on her valima and it looked much better than anything we could find in the shops.

^ that kind of karigari is such a lost art these days. and honestly when we were shopping for sil's set in karachi two summers ago, most of the stuff we saw was such rubbish- full of dangly beads and long strings of whatnots. the most gorgeous pieces i saw were at this place in that shopping mall in gulf... the forum, i think? or it was outside it... i can't remember now but dude sources from all over pakistan and india for heirloom jewellery from way back when and cleans it up and restores it and it was GORGEOUS. i mean, real mughlai stuff. i was coveting almost everything in his store.
