With regards to the cut of the hemline and shalwar/pants, Rizwan is the designer and it's his vision really but I'd Go with whatever I feel comfortable wearing.
What about a lehnga with a lot of volume and a pair of pants for later on? But then you'd totally be stealing the bride's thunder;-)
