and third, 99% of the people don't want to pay for the complete privacy option that you have to buy on these imageupload websites (kodak/flick/webshots).. and after a huge wedding, the only decent way to show pictures to all family n friends is to upload them, as opposed to individually email them! so yeah, the rest of us (who can't afford the privacy contract) resort to putting up these pictures online! there really is no other options in that case.....
Actually, i believe photobucket offers free privacy... you just have to make ur settings private and whoever wants to access it has to have a password that you give them.. also, it is easy to restrict who can view your pictures on facebook, so even if your pics end up here and they're only on facebook, you can somewhat track it down. I'm not sure about Kodak or webshots or flikr since i haven't used those. but facebook and photobucket are free and private if u choose to keep it private
