girls...I am getting married next February In Lahore and need help with bridal lenghas. What are good shops in Lahore to buy bridal lenghas/fabrics and is it better to get one ready made or buy the fabric and get it made yourself?

Any comments appreciated...thanks!

yazzybabe, my MIL designs clothes in Lahore! I don't have any pictures but she makes my clothes all the time, if you are interested I can give you her number! Also Ahsan Design Studio has amazing clothes! He's a new designer but his stuff sells like crazy! He's located in Defence, I dont think he has a website but I can find out for you!

wow I love this turquoise and peach/pink dress is beautiful! I'm thinking of getting something like this for my Walima dress....I don't remember now which post/page I saw it on...it's a middle pic that somebody posted... lovely...I wonder if I can replicate it.

umm it was actually behroop who was posting some images but her tags weren’t working. from the looks of the model i think it’s an indian design, and i think from benzer world. i’m just looking at the website and it has some awesome designs.

as for copying a design, you don’t need to go to a designer. you just need to know a good kaarigar, basically people who do all this work. i don’t know of any in particular, but as around, and ichra is still an awesome source to find them. just show them the design and they can get you that stuff made to those specifications.

I just got some info on my sisters dress. Some place in Karachi named Zaman. Thats all I know. Sorry but your going to have to ask around Karachi if any1 knows Zaman or you'll have to use their phone book directory if Pak has 1..

Sara 515 - A family friend bought her dress from Maria B, at first Maria B refused to discuss bridal clothes until my friend disclosed her budget, luckily her father was there (very strict and assertive he is!) and stated show us what u have got then we will tell you how much we have to spend. She then went onto show pictures of her dresses and stated she would make anything my friend liked. Her father stated they would leave if she did not show any dresses.............in the end she did..........................and the lowest prices of her dresses was £3500 ...............that was after weeks of haggling to get it to that price (ready made bridal). My friend then saw the same dress ........exact copy in liberty for half of the price! She was gutted. I wouldnt reccomend getting something 'made to order' from a designer if u are only there are few weeks...............get ready made from them as at least u know what u are paying for..................if u are there longer, u can get them one made to ur taste..................but there are no guarentees it wud be as nice as u imagined it!

wow really? I'm not going to Maria B now either! It's not worth paying so much money for a dress you will wear only once! I was thinking maybe I can get a shaadi dress made from scratch... just give the tailor or whoever a picture of the dress and design...do you think they will be able to make it? It would be a lot cheaper I think and they can equally good work ! Anyone know good shops in Lahore and Islamabad to buy cloth and good tailors to get it stitched? thxx..

yea I figured Maria B. would be overly priced for no reason.......anyways you can still get an idea of what you want from the website and go to another place to get your dress made for cheaper that'll look equally as great........so what if you dress is not designer, if it looks like designer wear then why not have it made cheaper? :)

im not planning on getting one made from scratch as once it is made, if its not how i imagined it to be, then it would be non returnable! LOL! So my plan is just to try ready made ones as i will know what it will deffo look like in the short time i have. ALot of places require 50% deposit before they start ur creation and I have known lots of friends whose lenghas have not been made on time and they have been posted to the UK when completed.......................and they have been totally wrong!

dont know.....i visited her outlet, it was such a disappointment.....
