Bridal Outifts

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

im not in karachi either but someone recently told me ready made/ designer dresses cost around 100,000 (which is too much if u ask me) and around 50,000 if u get them made urself, but the caveat is of course it takes 2-3 mos to get it made urself
also look around the other threads in this forum, they have great ideas and advice
best of luck

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

If bridal/groom outfits cost so much, I would strongly suggest nikaah be held in the baywatch shtyle.

^:rotfl:

no seriously…i don’t understand why people waste soooo much money on their weddings…venue cards food outfits jewelry shoes dowry n the list goes on…to me it’s nothing but show off…if you really have that much money to spend for one darn day…distribute it in orphans n needy people…n get married in masjid/church/registryoffice…the money won’t get wasted…you’ll feel good about yourself n won’t be tired like hell on the big day…and your families will be saved from pre-marriage headaches…

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Thanks for the advice. I agree with a lot of you guys in that ppl are spending wayyyyy too much on weddings these days. The prices i'm hearing for bridal outfits are ridiculous, even AFTER I convert to US dollars. 100,000 is a lot for something you'll barely ever wear again and I don't plan on spending that much. We're trying to keep the wedding as simple as possible.

I hear ppl are going to private designers a lot these days. Are they the ones charging so much or can ready made ones be just as expensive. I won't be able to go for 2-3 months so I doubt I can design a whole jora from scratch. What I might be able to do is custom one to my own specifications.

I'm going with the traditional red or some shade of it like maroon and I don't like very large prints or gaudy designs. I like my clothes delicate and subtle. Any suggestions for designers, boutiques, etc. (in Karachi)?

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Hey,
I am Sarah. I myself got married in karachi last year. i can suggest some places for buying bridals. One is Haseen Boutique in Tariq road. if you do go there and i suggest you talk to zeeshan. he has amazing clothes. there is a lot of variety to choose from. he has some beautiful saris as well. the other one is Mrs. Kazmi's boutique. she also has some beautiful clothes. my nikah outfit was from haseen boutique and rukhsati was from mrs kazmi. i hope these are of some help to you. i can also tell you about the makeup places if you want. just let me know.

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

shaheen saeed did my friend's make up...she did an amazing job!!!

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Miss Butt, that's actually quite nice.

If you shop around on Tariq Road, you can find nice outfits and bargain with them. Bargain, bargain, bargain!

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

Thanks for the tips, Sarah. I just need bridal clothes info because I won't actually be getting married in Karachi; so I don't need makeup services info. I live in the U.S. But I'm coming to Pakistan to do my shopping. How is the pricing in Haseen Boutique and Mrs. Kazmi's boutique? Where are they located?

Also, does anyone have any ideas on invitation card places? How much does that generally cost, assuming we need...lets say 350 cards? We're thinking of getting our cards printed in Pakistan because its so much cheaper and there is more variety in "ethnic" designs compared to the US.

Thanks all! :)

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

That's pretty! Was it ready made or did u guys get it designed and made from "scratch?"

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

hey i think it was ready made.. soo its really actually nice..
the whole thing is amazing
but u could start from scratch if u wanted to
n e ways...

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

hey,
here are the pics you asked for. i hope they are of some help. i dont have the pics from the rukhsati yet. i will post them as soon as possible. this outfit is from haseen boutique. as far as the price is concerned i will find that out for you and let you know. but zeeshan is pretty flexible with prices. if you have any other questions please feel free to ask me.

thanks
sarah

Re: Bridal outfits - help me!

hey samra you asked about the makeup places in karachi. the makeup that you see in the pics here is from Nabila's. i had it done by Altaf hussain. he is one of the best makeup artists known. he will ask you before he starts how you want it done. i dont like the makeup that is caked on. he did a very good job and the makeup was very natural. the only thing is that if you do want to have your makeup done at nabila's or shaheens which is also a very good makeup place you have to book 6 months in advance. i hope this will help you. if you any other questions please feel free to ask me.

thanks
sarah
