Three Names:
Madeeha's = Gr8 Bridal Makeup...I had my done from there...Should go for it...Does not make u look like pastry....but elegant yes for sure.
Khawar Riaz = Also real good...but also real expensive.
Ather Shehzad = Very Good ( I would say Madeehas and Ather Shahzad Both are Almost equally good.)
And Plz NOOOOOOOOOO Alle-Nora , Def. No NEW Look, Diplex used to be good but now they r same ...These big parlours are good to go for day to day things for beauty and hair care...for bridal just go to place who only deals in brides grooming and bridal makeups not other regular stuff. I mean above mentioned only takes brides not regular customers. Especially Madeehas.

i’v seen sum of the brides made by allenora,but to my disappointment i dint like them,recently my friend got married and is quite cute yet after being doneup was looking just ordinary
but madeehas is a good one i mean jitni mein ne abhi tuk waha se tayar hui hui dekhi hein they quite cute plus their photo shoot is also niceee

Hain?? 75,000 RS?? NO way.. depilex charges 15,000 for the bridal package, n isnt that the most xpensive one around?

No dipilex is not the most expensive one around......we paid around 21,000 excluding the photo shoot charges (which was 12/15,000 i think), for my sis-in-laws vailima make-up from Madeeha's last summer.
Ather Shehzad does not charge 75,000 it more like 30-35 we asked there too....but my SIL liked madeeha's better :)......

I wouldn't compare depilex with some gully wali 3rd rate parlor, but does more $$ equal better makeup/treatment, say ather shezad/madeeha's versus depilex? :)

I live in LA, and Ziba's makeup in real life on real life brides is NOT GOOD. It usually looks very light and homemade, and it washes out in the pictures. The worst part is that they charge an arm and a leg for it, especially if you want them to come to your place. Quite a few of my Indian friends have gone there for their makeup, and it didn't look special at all. I only know of one Pakistani bride who used them, and EVERYONE was disappointed with her makuep. The smart Pakistani girls use a couple of private desi makeup artists in our area (who come to your hotel or home), while the dumb ones go to MAC.
Ziba is great for other beauty services and mehndi, but not bridal makeup. The only good thing about their bridal makeup is their use of cute little crystal tattoos and colored "mehndi" on the backs of the bride (if she's wearing a low cut choli). Honestly, their best job was 15 years ago. A rich Sikh bride got married and they gave her a traditional makeup job; for years, she was prominently placed in their portfolio. (Her wedding was featured in the LA Times because it was so unusual back then for people to have a full Indian wedding, complete with the groom on a horse, bride in a doli, jhoola at the mehndi, etc.)
As far as NYC goes, there's a small, simple, no-frills salon called Raheela's in Midwood Brooklyn, on Coney Island Ave, next to all the other Pakistani shops. Don't be fooled by the decor of the place. It's not nice, I know, but she does GREAT bridal makeup, as if you are in Lahore. She's extremely reasonable in her prices, and she's very popular. A lot of times, she'll get 3 or 4 brides in a day. It's worth checking out her pictures. So many times I would go to the salon for threading, and she'd be getting a bride ready. All of them looked amazing in real life, and they looked very nice in their pictures as well.

most of the brides i saw in my family looked gorgeous ... and I do think they look much better then the brides I have seen here. depends on where u get ur makeup done from.

If you go to depilex, ask for the girl (gosh I can't remeber her name!) who has trouble speaking. She's the best. I got my own wedding makeup done by her and my sister-in-law had her walima makeup by her as well. She's quick, she knows what she's doing and she does a fantastic job too. I'll post photos of my sis-in-law soon.
I myself am looking for a good bridal makeup place in NY for my sister's upcoming wedding in July. I checked out the link for piera canu. Do you have photos of the bride who went there, chiaiman?

Chiaiman, where did she get the hair and henna done from? I wrote to Piera and she only does makeup.

I would strongly recommend that you get your Mac makeup crash course and take youre own makeup with you... Gosh the last thing you need is previously used makeup... for health reasons i suggest you take youre own makeup brushes too.
Its best to keep close to makeup styles that suits you, especially if you are not having a makeup trial before hand it would be a big mistake not to have your trial. My friend who was very beautiful prior to her bridal make up being done - turned out dam ugly after her makeover and needless to say the cost of it too really hurt.
