i need to buy some imitation jewelry for a wedding, nikah jewelry, reason being we cant bring the gold set into pakistan and then leave with it (there will be issues at customs).

What is he best place to buy imitation jewelry in london or lahore? We need to match the dress that is pink and silver embroidery. ma says it will cost £500 here in the uk.

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated, thank you.

In Lahore, if you go to Liberty, and go to Dupatta Gulli, there are a lot of shops there that sell imitation jewellry, and alot of it is really nice in reasonable prices. You can also get gold plated silver jewellry from the same place.

But, if you are taking a gold set from London, declare it at customs there, and when you are bringing it back, there wont be any issues. And plenty of people buy gold in Pakistan and bring it back as well. Its just luck whether they check you or not.

My MIL took all my jewelry, from their side to Pakistan for my wedding, without any problem, and i brought back all my jewelry from Saudi Arabia n then from Pakistan and had no problem either, they did check out at Lahore and Riyadh airports. The key is to wrap the sets in some cloth bag or napkins, instead of taking them in their boxes, so they look lesser in size.

Thanks, its good to know there are nor formal problems, but its not an option, ma wont risk it, and i too am wary of the safety risks, ie being mugged/held up at gunpoint or losing in transit etc.

its a very stylish set, and would look wonderful on a bride. the term"bridal" is not limited these days..Its evrybodys own statement really.and with the right clothes and styling this set would make a perfect bridal set.
