I am not discussing the “truth” in this matter. I am merely providing the source of the argument. The source is authentic according to the methods established for authenticity, it does not mean “truth” but this is what the scholars have to derive rulings from. It appears that your concerns are valid because the dominant opinion amongst the sahabah is that such a practice is not allowed.

If the event did happen as related in this hadith then we must accept it, at least as a very specific event. Furthermore, read the commentary on the event and it was stated that the breast was not suckled, but expressed milk was given. (Again I am not making any statement of ‘truth’ - just relaying a hadith)
