hmm, I dont remember this much of uproar, outcry and response against terrorism by the Pakistani gov't and national and international media and other facets of the society one month ago when Pakistan Ordnance Factory in Wah Cantt was subjected to terrorist attack where over a 100 people (all poor mazdoors from sorrounding villiages) were killed. oh that's right they were just very poor ordinary people to whom a loaf of bread is a blessing and who commit suicide due to financial crisis all the time, who cares about them.

^ you probably were in hibernation but threads were open here and people condemned it.
Firstly, pray to Allah (SWT) to grant janah to those who passed away and give *sabar *to their families (Ameen).
I for one moment do not believe that this cowardly act would be caused by a true Muslim especially in the holy month of Ramzan.
Fingers are / may be pointed at Al Qaeeda or Taliban and people should keep an open mind and the involvement of other countrie(s) should not be ruled out.

Brother, it is obvious that people behind such acts are not Muslims regardless of what they call themselves and whatever organisation they belong to, Taliban, Al-Quaida or whatever. One thing is for sure that they are follower of devil and duzakhi.
Anyhow, we know that Allah knows who supports and are involved in such hideous crime of suicide bombings. So, we should pray that curse of Allah be on those whoever is involved in such acts and whoever support such acts in any way. ... Ameen.
Re: Breaking News:Powerful blast Near the Parliament
seen the cctv footage.. i think the guard who shown courage and tried to put on fire from the suicide truck should be given bravery award.
Now it's time to think both india and pakistan that it's someone else's game and india-pakitan are just 'pyade' bombing immediate after delhi could have ignited fire between two nations.
Hope both countries now know fighting each other is not the solution.

Re: Breaking News:Powerful blast Near the Parliament
guys do you mind removing the CCTV footage link from your posts? No matter how misguided that suicide bomber was, it still shows a human being blowing himself up, and we know very well when the fire fighters are fighting to put off fire, there is a human body burning inside that truck.
seen the cctv footage.. i think the guard who shown courage and tried to put on fire from the suicide truck should be given bravery award.
There should be a security procedure and protocol. A set a written instructions, in case of suspected terror attack, must be followed, in the volatile situation we have there. The guard made a mistake, he should have not only stay away from it, but shoudl have asked people to evaculate from the adjuscent rooms. Saving lives is more important than giving your own.

Youre right the security guards should be awarded for their bravery. I salute them!
My dear, you are wrong to asses what I think of zardari.
I know he brought this 'plan' (of this 'Al Qaeda' like attack in Islamabad) from his visit to UK with gordon brown and the indian terrorist on Pakistani land.
After carrying out the 'plan', he did not take long to 'fly' to US to 'report' and further planning.
Regarding ISI losing its' quality in recognizing these kinds of threats to Pakistan's security and eleminating these factors, I agree with that. Though I do not think they necessarily have to be 'religious' to remain competent. I do believe they have to completely boycott watching the bollywood porn, stay pure physically and spiritually and be 'patriotic' to Pakistan - The land of pure (Not religiously fundamentalist).
ambassadaor u think americans give **** to zardari..zardari is a part of the plan..he is ****..ISI have lost its touch..isi needs religious blood..i strongly believe only religious mind people in army and isi can save pak..

**GEO reporting that Fedayen Islam claimed responsibility for this attack. Who are these people?
in a recorded message sent to the TV station they claimed responsibility and also made demands on the govt. GEO says due to national interest they will not air the tape.

Marriott to be rebuilt in 3 months - Owner Sadruddin Hashwani
Monday, September 22, 2008
**Marriott owner assures employees of job security**
ISLAMABAD: Sadruddin Hashwani, the owner of the Marriott Hotel, has assured employees that not one of them will be rendered jobless, as he plans to reconstruct the hotel within the next three months at an estimated cost of over half a billion rupees.
His assurance must have come as a great relief to some 1000 employees of the hotel who were suddenly faced with the prospect of becoming jobless after the hotel was destroyed in Saturday’s suicide attack.
“Let me make it very clear to you that not a single employee would be rendered jobless as they will all be getting their salaries during the period of reconstruction of the hotel”, said Mr. Hashwani while talking to The News.
He said one of the employees who died in the blast had five small daughters. From now onwards, he said, they are his daughters and he would take care of them. Hashwani said that all these employees would be actively taking part in the rehabilitation of the hotel. But, he said, there is another possibility that they might be given them two months leave with pay. He said he had already started working on the rehabilitation plan.
Replying to a question about the cost of rehabilitation, Hashwani said although it was too early to give an exact amount, according to initial estimates it would cost Rs600-700 million. He said although he had set a three-month deadline to reconstruct the hotel, his major concern would be to arrange furniture within this short time.
Mr Hashwani observed that had the fire brigade reached there on time, the hotel might have been saved from complete destruction. Replying to a question about the Americans staying in his hotel, he wondered why this was being cited to justify the attack. He said all over the world hotels do not refuse stay to anybody and it was wrong to focus on a few Americans, as there were people from other countries present at the hotel as well. He said he was so sorry to see the loss of human lives on such a scale and repeatedly said he would not let any one become jobless.
Re: Breaking News:Powerful blast Near the Parliament
Very sad.
Kudos to Mr. Hashwani. My dad visited the site today, and they are repainting it all white so that it doesnt look that bad till that time.
Re: Breaking News:Powerful blast Near the Parliament
We need more people like Hashwani in Pakistan. Hats off to him.
Mr Hashwani is very kind. Yes we do need more people like him.![]()
It was very disturbing and heart-breaking to see what happened the other day. So much destruction and loss of life. It seems no place is safe in Pakistan now. What happened at Marriot could have easily happened near the presidency, PM house or parliament building which was allegedly the target of the extremists.
It seems no building is safe now because all you need is a fast moving small vehicle to ram open the gates followed by a truck laden with 1000kg (1300 kg in Marriot's case) explosives. The barriers and blocks they had put just outside the hotel in order to deny would-be extremists were not much of a deterrent in the end. This was a well-planned and executed terrorist outrage.
God knows if and when we will get rid of this menace of extremism. More air and ground raids in FATA are sure to exacerbate the already precarious situation there. Inaction would be suicidal and like playing into the hands of the terorists. Only God can save Pakistan now.
Re: Breaking News:Powerful blast Near the Parliament
Does anyone remember the large aquarium in the Marriot lobby? When they first showed the scene from inside, there was shattered glass and dead fish (some still bouncing on the floor).
