Re: Breaking News: Musharraf resigns
Whats there to celebrate? Its going from one crook to another or maybe even bigger ones.
Re: Breaking News: Musharraf resigns
Although not a big Musharraf fan myself... I just get shivers imagining the reigns of the country in hands of either Zardari or Sharif. Unfortunately, unlike our general populace, I don't have a short-term memory. So, I can't exactly celebrate today... neither am I remorseful over Mush's resignation.... I'm just worried and concerned.
May God help Pakistan.

Why didnt the brave fearless General stand his ground and fight then? Why take the cowardly way out? I wanted him to face impeachment. He could have faced his charges like a man.
brave who pissed in his pants after the phone call… ![]()

Re: Breaking News: Musharraf resigns
As a person who disliked Musharraf ... I believe he should not be impeached for a nubmer of reasons:
1) He resigned ... for whatever reason he resigned and is letting the country continue in its course. For such a daring act knowing that people will want to persecute he still resigned. Let bygones be bygones
2) Not all of the attrocities were his fault but caused by those advisors around him, they are still lurking in seats of power.
3) The country will destablise even more - he has willingly sat down and this should be honored. Why do we want to be a people who run over a person then reverse our vehicles over him again to make sure he is well and truly dead?
4) His judgment will come like all of ours in the aakhira
I would have favoured his resignation to be done in a better way, however, we are obsessed over crucifying one person for the sins of many, he had to do this and this shows guts. Okay he has left the country now. I hope the gangsters who are left behind find a way of putting things straight or else we can look forward to more problems.
I like Imran Khan personally ...

This is a big concern. Most notably, its the MQM and the ex lotaz who are now returning to their old parent parties.

We should learn from our mistakes not make them over and over again!

Pyarai Pai jaan, Magna Carta kee khilaaf warzi juram hai tau Constitution of Pakistan kee khilaf warzi kya juram nai! If Royal Army Chieh put Gordan behind the bars..will you say let the General go as he has done it by mistake.
2) Not all of the attrocities were his fault but caused by those advisors around him, they are still lurking in seats of power.
If he listened to those advisors and acted on the advise then he is still the responsible party, for the "act".
By resigning he has avoided the impeachment anyway.
May God help Pakistan, may this be a new beginning. May justice be served to all the crooks that includes Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Altaf Hussein, Fazlur Rehman, Chaudhary brothers etc.

Aap ki baat sahi hai ek context mein!
That he is only convicted of his own crimes. Not for the crimes of others. But you see people want to make him into a Qurbani ka bakra. All that hatred channeled into one person without solving the real issues.
And the other condition is that the Constitution of Pakistan is manifested in its nature not to the letter. If by impeaching him it will make things better then do it, but I feel in his case he had to do some bad things and impeaching him will not mend the wounds.
We need to calm down and before we can point the finger at other people we need to point the finger at ourselves first.
We need to set up a better infrastructre of accountability and trust ... I hate to see the people holding someone accountable to a constitution when they themselves do not swear by it.
If you want peace ... then the newly established powers need to show ... rahm because that will send a message to the world that Pakistanis can be reasonable civilised people.
True .. in most cases … but I believe he was led up the garden path many times. He came across as clever and powerful, but I do not believe it was all his fault - He thought like a cornered tiger - a military man. The decision made in politics are of a different nature he was misled I think.
Let’s move on … build a stable Pakistan … first thing to do is to establish an intelligence community for inter-depedent accountability.

Oh yes it was his fault. He over threw elected govt & even now he was not leaving, but had no choice.
Mr. Director that is the best thing you ever said. and if you allow ![]()
