There is a difference between being sad about something and condemning it. I was sad about the Lal Masjid incident, but I did not condemn the action taken against them. That is where I stand, so its easy for you to take me up on what I believe.
For once I'd like to see an unequivocal condemnation/support of terrorism from the other side without trying to have it both ways.

theres different sorts of justifications offered by people who minimize/rationalize such stuff. any statement that characterizes this as a "price" we pay for XYZ, whether that be lal masjid or kashmir or sheikh rashid's moustache is a justification. it is the definition of a justification.

But If I catch a suicide bomber with the west on him, And I find out he is the brother of one of the girl who was killed and buried with a boy.
I rather send that boy for some consoling to some professional.

guys about lal masjid, the ''pakistani taliban'' or whoever is commiting these acts used the lal masjid aftermath as an excuse to start bombings. if you remember correctly lal masjid themselves never committed acts of terror such as suicide bombs. lal masjid at most can be described as 'islamic extremists' but not as we usually know that term as an aka for terrorists.
secondly why is baitullah so sacred that he cannot be put into a jail? if you have been following these events then you will know that his brother abdullah (ex gitmo resident) was on anti pak campaign since his release. also afghan taliban have disassociated themselves from 'pakistani taliban'.
let it be known to all pakistani tribesmen that baitullah is working for a foreign, non muslim country. the last thing pakistan needs is to fight all of fata.
but i cannot understand why the government allows baitullah to remain free. so much remains unanswered

lal masjid did not commit such acts, and they actually forbade any such attacks AS LONG AS MUSHY AND CO. WOULDN'T CROSS THE LIMITS, which they very much did. And he also warned against a severe and drastic backlash from those in the north-west if they were taken out and this is exactly whats happening. Maulana Abdul Aziz is on record with those statements.
Shame you guys were all trigger happy back then and were completely ignoring all the sincere warnings.

That news was reported by only one source which happens to be a South East Asian newspaper and none other. More over there was no release on this issue from the official Taliban sources in Afghanistan. Hence that news can be effectively dismissed as BS!

It wasn't the innocent citizens who brought the masjid down. It was mushy and the forces he used. If anyone is to be punished for it, it is mushy who didn't tackle the situation effectively and created all that mess. It is not the innocent citizens of the country. It is foolish and arrogance of those who don't condemn killing of innocent citizen, innocent citizens who don't have anything to do with what the government does and how they handle sensitive issues.

im one of the few people on here who was against the lal masjid operation. infact i even favoured better implimentation of laws which lal masjid were concerned about. i thought it was shameing the police and establishment by doing their work (arresting criminals)
the reason planners and those who abett suicide bombings should be locked up now, is for the people of pakistan. we all know the unity has been breached and anything other then maintaining order results in more sever disunity. so what are we going to do, allow it to completely go beserk or try to patch things up?
no bombs coming from fata means no news and no news is good news. the population can hope to get a muslim government in the future by peaceful means

US started a war with Afghanistan..on the basis of capturing Osama bin Laden, who is nowhere to be found...and now they are invading that country, and Pak is supporting it.
Now they've created a breeding ground for all types of atrocities to happen, and they themselves are responsible for instability in the area.
Look at the root of the problem, not the symptoms. More people will die and suffer, unless we deal with the problem at hand.
Did you ever see so many bombings, BEFORE this war on "terror" began? Its only their presence, and Pak army's support for them, and people who suppor them, that is causing this to happen.
They know it, and they can play with your hearts easily. Its not hard for invaders to setup dividing factors within a populace. US especially, has a track record of that in Chile, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Iraq, etc etc.
So who is really gullible? Are we still wishing they find WMDs and Osama?

Before the war on terror began, the Taliban were hosting Arab terrorists plotting attacks all over the world. These savages have carved out their own country on the border areas of Pakistan which undermines Pakistani sovereignty.
As for the Pakistani Army. It has every right to patrol every inch of Pakistan. These tribal animals better learn to deal with it.

Lets for the sake of the Argument assume it is.
Now are we gunna sit back and look at all the symptoms of the invasion? Or we finally going to wake up to the problem at hand? THe root of it all.
Have you been to Pakistan lately? And have you been there before, lets say prior 2000?
What difference do you see? That now Americans have used "osama" as an excuse to invade a country (later to liberate, then to democratically reform, etc excusesd dont end) , and for the sake of the argument lets also assume taliban were nothing back then, but now, as more and more people lose their homes, their identity and lives, more and more taliban will grow in numbers. More innocent people will die, this is nothing but a breeding ground for instability, so we can continue to die with this fall of our nation.
Lets deal with the problem at hand, and all this will end, I'm telling you. This is the first time Pakistan is going through this, other countries have already witnessed this and Pakistanis need to realize it.
What happens (already occuring btw) if US invades Pakistan 2morrow?
