Everyone knows the plight of minorities in Pakistan and their sufferings. Whether you are Ahmadi, Hindu, Christian, or whatever, do not lose hope in Pakistan - yet.
The world’s eyes are on Pakistan, and their attitude in this ‘ever opening world’ would make sure Pakistan moves in the right direction for all concerned.

I am saddened to core of my soul. What a horrible tragedy. May Allah treat those retards accordingly who did this in the name of islam and may Allah grant peace to the departed souls and sabar to the families.
I will NEVER be ashamed of being a Pakistani. Its deplorable. They are not Pakistani. If you ask them, they will call themselves muslims rather than Pakistani, so there yo go. I will always be proud to be a Pakistani and we will rise again from these doldrums, inshaAllah.

I just don't seem to have the right words to express my shock, disgust, grief, anger, and so much more over this ghastly incident...This is just madly horrific...a nightmare which became reality last night...
I was still awake watching the news and talking to my family about how a distance from the Airport to Karsaz intersection on Shara-e-Faisal that is normally covered under medium traffic in about a 10 minute drive took almost 10 hours, when breaking news came in of 1 blast. Right the next moment another one...
It's true for the first 20 minutes no reporters from all channels knew excatly what had happened and how serious it was...because the frsr report of dead bodies was given by the Aaj TV Reporter about 20 mins later soon followed by Geo and Ary and others.
There had earlier been reports of firewroks so it was thought the car carrying them may have been blown up injuring a few.
Half an hour later it was clear that this was way bigger than imagined. body parts, dead bodies and injured in hundreds...by morning close to 130 confirmed dead and about 500 injured...horrible horrible...!
May Allah bless the souls of the innocent killed, may Allah grant patience to their families. May Allah protect everyone and Pakistan from such threats. May Allah punish the killers and may they be eliminated and taught lessons to be remembered.
This incident could be many things...let's pray all stays under control.
Karsaz area is one of Karachi's best locations, best built, best protected, bets maintained...even the recently built flyover was the best.
Its right in front of PNS Mehran and shortly ahead of PAFB Faisal and PAF Museum. On the left is a large PSO station. I'm glad it remained safe else this would have been 10 times worse. I almost pass Karsaz everyday, its a major artery, major intersection. The whole area is cordoned off, half the city is cut off from Shara-e-Faisal.
I have such great attachment with this place.

This is just too sad. You hear about things like this in Baghdad, but Karachi? Govt must do something to control this menace of jihaid terrorists or we're all doomed. :(

The photos were very disturbing and there was blood everywhere.
May God give Pakistan the strength to overcome this tragedy.

Benazir says that they had earlier caught a man with a pistol, and that shots were fired at the bus she was on after the first bomb had gone off.
As for why she went inside before the explosion - she said that there were firecrackers going off at the time and her security guards felt that was when someone would be most likely to shoot at her (the sound of gunfire being similar to firecrackers)

I haven't read the 10 prior pages of this post, I was at work yesterday evening and the customer on learining that I am from Pakistan told me about the blast. When I had left home in the morning, Yahoo home page had news of her return as their top news and shwoing pictures of the crowd and her getting out of the plane.
WTF is going on in Pakistan? everyone gone flipping mad??? when is it going to end, it's like it's no freaking big deal to strap a bomb on you and just blow yourself apart ---and yeah the rest of mankind standing next to you as well
Extremely disguted, immnesaly saddend and most of all utterly utterly frustated at this impotnat rage of mine... what can I can beside post on a forum and let out some steam

Yes not govt. as a whole (I don't think they would be that stupid) but don't forget there are Zia sympathisers within the establishment (PML-Q/ISI/federal cabinet, most of the military etc.) who are very anti-BB. I am sure Zia cronies like ex-ISI chief Hamid Gul still have considerable influence within the establishment/ISI. not to mention Zia's son mard-haq junior who is religious affairs minister and is openly opposed to everything BB does. I am not saying he did it though.
Mush has promised an independent investigation so let's wait and see. I am not ruling out anything at this juncture.
