**Brazil Won’t Send Troops to Help in Iraq **
Fri Sep 19,10:16 AM ET
BRASILIA, Brazil - Brazil has rejected a U.S. request to send peacekeeping troops to Iraq (news - web sites) because of the “difficult” security situation there, Defense Minister Jose Viegas said.
Thursday’s announcement came days before President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was to meet President Bush (news - web sites) in Washington. Brazil opposed the war in Iraq.
“The request was rejected in view of the difficulties facing the U.S. and British army since the regime of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) was toppled,” Viegas said.
“Brazilian (news - web sites) citizens understand our reasons to avoid exposure of (Brazilian) troops in Iraq as the situation there continues being difficult, with soldiers injured or killed almost daily.”

fewer causulties on which side? your or their? surely your not saying that 20,000+ afghanis and 8,000+ iraqis killed by USA and co are fewer causulties. if so then IMHO 911 is not even worth-mentioning compared to these fewer causulties. but you'll consider it HUGE because it had hit you at home. :)
