Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

"So it means those who come to this website....wherever they come from love Pakistan or Pakistanis?"

That's an illogical conclusion to draw from my post.

friend, when we talk of 5000 years of hindu, hindukush history....pakistan also becaome a part of that.

you can amend history...but cannot run away from it.

ah, so Hinduism didn’t exist before, okay :chai:

for you the meaning of religion should be centralised and concentrated, whereas the way of life in indian subcontinent was never known as hinduism till mid centuries.

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

^ probably because everyone was 'hindu' thats why no 'distinction' or id was needed to distinguish.

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

in india there have been three revolts against the brahamanical cult.

first was the efforts of buddha...was defeated.

second was sikh movement....was directed against muslims....

and the third is kashiram-mayawati' movement....the third one is a very corrupt movement but has succeeded to some extent when mayawati, the dalit woman cm of up, compelled her brahmin ministers to touch her feet in public.......

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

The gist of modern day Hindu beliefs are: follow whatever you want, however you want - that is Hinduism. Krishna, however, would be shaking his head at this, considering that such practices (i.e. idol worshipping, poly- and pantheism) are forbidden according to many Hindu sacred texts (i.e. Bhagavad Gitaa).

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

blah it's all fiction anyway.. hinduism islam or christianity.. man made bakvaas..

and world, solar system, human body was created by man too, right?

I dont think this is true. Caste system came into existence mainly due to Aryans, fair skinned people and todays majority of brahmins are fair than the rest of the indians who are either black or brown skinned. Having said this, it is these very same brahmins who have now become muslims or in some cases christians in kashmir, Goa and kerala. May be nature just wanted to convert these brahmins into these "religions" as they were not magnanimous enough to help people outside of their community. In kashmir, they are suffering even now, which on the surface looks like a religious issue.

In many cases, perhaps for their livelihood, brahmins also started the practice of Idol Worship. No wonder, nature again reacted by destroying many such idols in the guise of "invaders" like Ghazni or Ghouri.

Having said this, i would also like to add that i dont abhor brahmins, i have many friends who are brahmins. and neither do i believe in Islam or christianity, and nor do i have plans coverting to these religions.

I dont want my mind to be limited to practising whatever that is written in a book, be it religious or otherwise. However, yes, there are instances where idol worship is not "recommended" or abhored in "Hindu" texts. But again there are instances where it is supported as well. Conclusion is there is a contradiction, which i only attribute it to corruption of those scriptures. i think there were many texts written later or even added to already existing earlier quotes in scriptures, which started supporting idol worship or polytheism. This is my personal opinion.

Reviving the true Hindu ethos

What is the reason to call your new book Hindu?

I want to redefine the concept of what is Hindu. Earlier the various groups of people were arranged horizontally but after Buddha in the Brahminical period it became a hierarchy, a rigid system. Once Hindu meant all the people living on this side of the Sindhu/Indus river. But now Hindu has become a word in the hands of Hindu fundamentalists, it has become a matter of shame to call yourself a Hindu, this is something quite oppressive for me, I should be proud to call myself a Hindu. I know Hinduism has been non exploitative, has absorbed everything and everyone. If you confine the concept of a Hindu to a vegetarian, Brahminical, sacred thread wearing person that is not proper. Hating other communities, specially Muslims, is not a part of Hinduism. Hindus are intimate with Muslims and we have developed a unique culture with that, all over the world. I want to bring the pendulum back to the old non- exclusive and inclusive type of Hinduism.

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

"and world, solar system, human body was created by man too, right?"

No. The jury is still out on that. Meanwhile we shouldn't just start believing any theory thrown at us only because we WANT to believe in something.

What about people of lower caste converting to other religions? What reason do you think "nature" have for them?

Re: Brahmins, Hindutva have ruined Hindu religion

raghav.. you make no sense !!

people who went to christianity and buddhism.....had a good chance in life.....but what about those who opted for islam....

ho! this is going nowhere, then who create god, higher god created the lower god!

the question is which god created the solar system, humans........., is it the christian god, or the hindu gods or the muslim god, or some other god, maybe.....

No, it was created by ministry of science & technology of India 10,000 years ago.
