why is that, if he is from pakistan, why cant he marry a girl from there?

[/QUOTE]

From what I have seen lately, this is becoming a common trend. Guys from Pakistan (new immigrants) want girls from here whereas a lot of guys born and raised here go back to Pakistan to get married.

sigh

lemme clarify one thing....my folks have been here for 30 years. that's what u called well-settled. h1 anything isn't much of anything and it;s rude to define it as such. settled means he can stay here on his own two feet. h1 means he needs a greencard biwi.

yeah but he's a cool guy though, no doubt...so nothing personal.

Bharysh: People often look at the world with a very narrow mind. Nothing personal but you seem to be one of them. I knew of a 'gas station desi' family who claimed to be in the US since the 1970s. Their Children were proper brown Sahibs and memsahibs with their much coveted American accent. The Parents were recently arrested on fraud charges because they had forged documents.

If you live with folks who've recently migrated from villages, you will see all immigrants as paindos. The fact of the matter is that more and more of the guys who come here to work/study just need a 'green card' so they can have a travel document that would let them cross borders with the minimum amount of hassle.

Who told you guys born and raised here go back to Pakistan? In my experience a majority of them marry non-desis. The ones who go to Pakistan are either closet gays or too ugly to hookup with someone here.

^ Thats so rude statement! Pakistani larrkyon ke liye ugly guys hi reh gae hein? I wonder...

Mindless, sorry for not being politically correct. I hate to make sweeping generalizations but it seems to be the order of the day with these desi Feminazis (oops another generalization).

So if I hurt someone's feeling. I apologize.

Besides, I never said that Pakistani Larkees go for the ABCD rejects. **read carefully.

My friend's parents are from a well placed diplomatic circle presntly Employed by a USA mission abroad. He has no interests in green card neither he is dependent on any status hand out. Instead of making it an open discussion forum, if there are any initial propositions then please lets hear it. You should'ev put a question to me regarding USA & Canada only clarification. So lets chill and move on. :D

Thanks for your input Bharysh! But this does not apply here.
ps; Did you get any msgs as yet,,,;)

THANK YOU RAINDANCE!

PoP goes the stereotype.

^^ no problem ! :D

Perhaps I'll soon open another thread on this interesting "Gap" within the same culture and diversity in our thinking.

how does it not apply here? defining him as very well settled is inappropriate...he's also not the first one i've heard try to define themselves that way. i'm just wondering how you are defining that because i don't interpret it that way. don't sugercoat salt.

you want you friend to stay in the states and his family is coming here soon, it'll be nice for them to see some larkiya while they are here.

wadi- i wasn't speaking to you. calling me narrowminded and then telling me not to take it personally is very low demeanor on your part. you could have expressed your views a little better than that.

i'm not even sure what your point was?
