ISLAMABAD, Nov 16: A Pakistani boy, who had disappeared after marrying a Canadian internet pal here, has returned home with his wife, one of his his relatives said on Wednesday.
Earlier, parents of 17-year-old Amin had lodged a complaint with the police, accusing a Canadian woman, Nikol Kadas, of abducting their son. Kadas, who is thrice his age, had travelled all the way to Pakistan to marry him.
One of Amin’s close relatives said the love birds had met on the internet and started chatting occasionally. Their friendship had soon turned into love and they had decided to marry.
Amin knew that Kadas was thrice his age but still he had agreed to marry her, he said. When the 50-year-old Canadian woman arrived in Islamabad, Amin had quietly left his home and married her without informing his parents.
The newly-wed couple had their honeymoon at a local guesthouse, where the two stayed for over a week at the expense of Kadas, before coming home on Tuesday, the relative said.
Amin’s wife had encouraged him to face the situation boldly as local reporters were hounding them, he added.
The relative said Amin’s parents were happy to find their son back home, and had withdrawn the case they had earlier filed. But they were still urging Amin not to leave for Canada with Kadas.
“Amin is, however, bent on going to Canada with his wife and settling there,” the relative said.“He has already got a visa.” The relative said Kadas, a divorcee, had a son and a daughter in Canada. “According to her, she had married Amin because she felt
lonely,” the relative added.
