I never really read Cosmo/seventeen/etc. The only books I remember being interested in reading in high school were murder mystery novels, I was crazy about them! If my daughter/son wanted to read teen magazines then I guess I won't be the one paying for them at least to discourage my child but I can't really stop them if I want to because every magazine has a website, they can just go online and read!
