I personally think that book reading not only improves person's thinking but also helps promote critical reading. Reading books generally improves person's IQ. If a kid start learning to read early, it is more likely he/she will become critical thinker and will not have any problem identifing meanings of hard to understand words.

not only that but for me what i read myself stays for long in my mind than i hear from ppl. i mean in terms of hadeeths .
