Since MQM is nonstop crying about Talibans left, right and centre, how about they show some support for an army operation in Karachi to root them out? After all they were the loudest cheerleaders of Swat operations, they have no problem in endorsing drone attacks and the continuous military warfare in FATA for past 12 years? Its clear that enemy is in Karachi now and obviously our usual policy of bombing remote villages in North has failed big time. So MQM should endorse the idea of implementing Pakistan's official anti-terrorism policy for FATA in Karachi too....right?
What solution do they have to deal with this mess except pulling another victim card and mudslinging other parties?
Aren't Rangers the extension of army in Karachi? Not that the army has done any miracles in Swat where malala got shot.

Technically, internal security is the job of IB but yeah the less said about Pakistani machinery the better. Seriously, the biggest problem is that all of Pakistan hasn't made a break with this extremist ideology. The govt / army whose job is to ensure law & order also aren't willing to give carrots & sticks to make sure Pakistan is set on the right path.

There is massive possibility that the recent violence in Karachi is rooted in the traditional dirty politics of the city. All the main Karachi parties: MQM, ANP, PPP are armed to teath and all these parties are targeting each other. They normally don't spare each other and this is election time, so I highly doubt Talibans are the main force of destruction in Karachi.
Bring on the usual ethnic and sympathy votes to buy Karachi.

By these relentless attacks taleban are helping Anp, MQM and PPP (victim card). It's for sure the taleban would prefer the incompetents to come to power again as they thrive in the kind of governance we saw in their last tenure.

When your leaders instead of saying that when they would come to power, they would apprehend them, try them and hang them. The fact is: if Imran Khan's stance on Talibans is as dangerous, deplorable and impracticable as some blind jiyalas claim them to be, then the all mighty, all righteous and the all efficient Pakistan army would've got him out of the way long long time ago! In fact now that USA's exit policy regarding Afghanistan has been made public, Pakistan army would be most glad to have Imran on their side to help secure a ceasefire with the Talibans and send them where they belong -Afghanistan, while we take care of our own internal matters.
The fact is that the Pakistan army has not just failed but is tired of fighting these unseen enemies that are growing every day in strength and numbers yet getting increasingly out of reach.

Errr what has the mighty USA, with their unmatachable technically advanced weapons, huge number of army and funds has achieved in past 13 years to exterminate Talibans? Were they not dealing with them "iron hands"? Where the USA has failed, what makes little boys and girls think that Pakistan's army would succeed, especially when there is no more truck load of American aid and 'do more' rhetoric? The fact is, Pak army itself has no desire to keep fighting this unseen enemy within its borders, this is not the type of warfare they are trained for or even good for the survival of the country. They certainly did achieve the consensus for fighting the Talibans and it bore no fruit and now they are indeed looking at the option of ceasefire for the greater good of the country, just like the NATO forces.
I mean where is the intelligence and where's the army on the recent situation in Karachi? Where's the damned President of the Pakistan? What has he done in the last five years to effectively fight the Talibans? Why are they all so tight lipped? Shouldn't this be a bigger worry than wailing over a what a lone democrat is saying in his election rally? Just shows how confused, mislead in fact brain washed certain fraction of Pakistani awaam is.
I guess army should be called in for Karachi and we should tell USA to send drones to the City. Lets see how many people cherish this glorious example using iron hands to deal with the Talibans.
