Islam never abandoned slavery though it was discouraged. Left open loopholes will always allow evil people to abuse the law/system. It’s about time Muslim leaders around the world collectively condemned slavery. It should be declared Haram. We should not be looking for excuses to make it acceptable just because it wasn’t completely abandoned by the prophet. Stop looking for any goodness in enslaving people. And yes,** I have seen people justify slavery many times here on GS**. I don’t get it.

I think when 276 girls are kidnapped it is entirely appropriate to protest their kidnapping. With play cards that say bring back our girls. I don’t believe Malala is for murder of young boys.

As to why the news of boys being killed did not gain international attention, I don’t know whether that is some sort of a sinister ploy from the west to let boys be murdered.

IMHO some factions exist in society who can’t handle people such as Malala. And they don’t hesitate to bring negativity when it concerns her.

The only issue is that our society is more likely to get behind little girls being abused, as evidenced by the entire narrative around Boko Haram being centered around girls, when he butchered boys as well. You can bring back the kidnapped, not the dead. As despicable as the murder of the boys was, springing into action could prevent future possibilities if such murders but not bring the boys back. I this case, there is a slim hope that the girls can be saved. That may be one driving factor.

Regardless these animals and their benefactors, financial and moral supporters both open and stealth need to be eliminated.
