I agree with all who say to ignore the fool. He is onl doing it to make a name for himself and cause more anguish for muslims. If we were smart, and that is a big if, we will not fall into his trap and leave him alone.

UTC I don;t think Spock was trying to justify the figurine at all just agreeing that since muslims are not used to such mockery the reaction is far more intense than it would be for bobblehead figurine for Jesus or Moses.

I would disagree with that last line because the professor says that causing extreme reactions may not be the ex-marines intention. It seems quite intentional keeping in mind his statement "I thought, 'If they flipped out over some cartoons what will they do with a dashboard Muhammed?'

I hope instead of issuing death fatwas for this guy and chanting death-to-... slogans muslims can ignore the scumbag.

I got 71% in urdu in F.Sc , but really I dont get what he wrote MR UKAJ....

• Reminds me I got suspended from urdu class for a week, because in pre-board exams my urdu teacher gave "Muzakar-Mounas", and one of the words she gave was "Raand" you can guess what Mounas I wrote , that got me suspended for a week....ohh those were the days..:) *

how do you display that anger, publically and politely yet firmly state that you dont like this behavior, or take you to the back alley and blow your head off

the goal is to stop the guy from making fun, and stay within legal limits, why give him free publicity, and actually help him?

As I said, pour thru law books find some clause, dig up his backgorund find out some crime that he committed, find out the dolls are enviromentally dangerous, or is being made in seatshops…shut him down, make his business life hell..legally of course. what does threatenign him do?

As I said, as long as you are doing something (intellectual approach as you are suggesting of course), that is a way to go. My only objection was on 'ignore-and-forget-and-do-not-do-anything-approach' :)

I will be angry no doubt and this angers me too. I would have a few options, one would be to react irrationally and curse the living daylights out of you by stooping to your level, second to treat you according to your worth (hypthetically ofcourse) and ignore you by not giving you attention. The first will accomplish nothing other than maybe giving u more joy for having riled me up so much, the second would be a better decision in comparison. Thirdly if u mattered enough and I thought rationally I would try to clarify any misconceptions u had that lead u to badmouth my parents.

In this case if we muslims were to react the way we normally do what would we do? issue a death warrant for him like we did for rushdie and actually get him ten times the fame he would get if we hadn;t, ten times the security he would if he hadn;t, ten times the sales he would if we hadn’t. We protest in our own countries and set fire to a KFC or two, burn flags, create disorderliness in our cities and accomplish what at the end of the day? Did we get an apology from the cartoonist? Did the newspaper fire him as per our demands? The guy who made this bobblehead figure is a nobody. A few haters will buy his figurines and then what? He will fade away being the insignificant soul that he is. But if we react the way we always do he will surely stay in the news, get hyped, get attention. That is why I think ignoring him would be a better option.

If you keep your mouth shut and think of a ‘bad’ thing being ‘bad’ in your heart and fully understand that it is bad, then Prophet:saw: has said that such a person is at the lowest level of Iman. Doing something about things (as Fraudia suggested) should be our concern as muslims…

And as I said, it’s about our iman… then know that increase in our iman is also based on our love of the prophet:saw: and if you are keeping your mouth shut then your iman is weak and if it is weak then your love is not getting upto the level, our faith demands… I can give you references from two ahadeeth and an ayah in Surah Tauba if you would like me to.
