Here is a simpler solution and thats what I do with my phone .

Your phone has Wifi in it and you can transfer files via that . Connect to your home wifi . Go to Settings → Connectivity → Content Sharing . . . and enable it . Now you can browse your phone files like any other device on your network . You can copy any file you want from your phone .
