I've heard of doctors saying that children have BM once every couple of days is normal too and I am afraid that I have to disagree with them. I certainly do not profess to be more knowledgeable than the doctors but I can't see going two or more days without a bowel movement for either an adult or a child.
I would opt for a second opinion or ask for a referral to a specialist.
