Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

I will force my friends to vote this election, i will certainly be voting and it will be for Lib Dems.

I dont understand people who say its just one vote and still talk about having democracy in Pak etc, when they dont wanna take part in it.

i think everyone should make effort and vote for what they think is right regardless if that party or person win or not.
same goes for less evil and more evil, you should try to atleast stop greater evils.

rest is up to you lazy GS UK residents.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

This morning I heard on NPR that Blair & his party is likely to win. Did I hear it right?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Statistically Aj Blair can't lose even if he doesn't win a majority because the opposition is splintered...and even losing his majority would take a swing of unprecdented magnitude..NOT likely to happen..

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

And this is his third term right? What is the limit?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Theoretically no limit..to how long someone can stay on as PM..but Blairs announced this would behis last election as PM..

Re: Blair’s Britain?: Elections called for May!

No party represents our views

Labour and conservative pro Iraq war. Lib dem and respect pro Iraq war as long as UN agrees. Both scenarios were unacceptable to us.

Lib dems want to legalise cannabis, want to create tolerance zones for prostitutes and legalisation of brothels. They want to teach sex education to children as young as 7. They want to soften the law on extreme media violence and sex shops.

Respect is a socialist party. George Galloway famously supported Milosevic. Regrets falsely accusing Hizb ut Tahrir of attacking him and is now facing a libel case unless he publicly apologises.

From their website:

LGBT rights

This conference welcomes the production of a Respect leaflet for London Pride.

It supports the policies outlined in that leaflet i.e.

An end to discrimination against lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people
For Equal partnership and pension rights
For strong policies to tackle homophobia in all public bodies
For an increase in public services that meet the needs of lesbians, gay men bisexuals and transgendered people, rather than money wasted on war.
Conference instructs the incoming National Committee to produce similar material for all Pride events next year and urges local groups to make sure the material is distributed at events in their area.

When we vote we vote for all policies not just one. So a protest vote in favour of lib dems is in favour of the legalisation of brothels etc Regardless of whether we vote or not, a party will be elected whose policies will definitely clash with our values.

We should partake in politics and not isolate ourselves that our views are not heard or integrate so that we lose our identity.

We shouldn’t delegate our responsibility to the community to a councillor or anyone else.

We shouldn’t limit political work to just a tick every 4 or 5 years.

We should take the middle path and interact on the basis of Islam. Stand for Islam and nothing else.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

^Mashallah well said

voting for these kuffar parties endorses the kuffar laws and makes muslims mix the haqq with the batil and this is totally forbidden it is so clear.

These western politcal parties i have seen there agenda one hand they talk so nice about muslims and the next minute every one of them signing treaties declaring war and bombing muslim peoples if people can cleary see this how on earth can they argue vote for these blood thirsty politcal parties from the lib dems, conservative and labour they all same and this respect party which i seen weblink for is nothing but a pro gay group and there some muslim candidates in there group aoozibilah may allah guide these people.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Perhaps Allah should guide Muslims out of England if they are not able or willing to participate in the political process. After all, England is a land of kuffar laws that is not going to change to appease Muslims.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Silly Logic..beyod the Iraq issue elections are to ensure good schools and hospitals in your area..people who oppose efforts to clean up crime and improve education... are in my opinion trying to destroy Muslims. A significant number of MP's are influenced by the Muslim and minority vote..and would stop their parties controversial ideas if given a good enough electoral voice.

In my constituency the Lib Dem candidate contesting has been to Pakistan several times and knows as much about Islam as your average Muslim does..why shouldn't i vote for him?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Seminole,

When the Prophet Muhammad(saw) had a problem with Makkan society he did not leave, neither did he partake in the system. He approached the influentials of Makkah and the influentials of over 40 tribes. He invited them to Islam and to make him(saw) their leader.

Why don't you say the same thing to the NGOs, the multinational companies and western states which try to influence with force the politics in our lands. It's alright when they do it and it supposed to be wrong when we do it, even though we never use force. Why the double standards?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Zakk,

Isn't it silly to vote for someone who knows about Islam and yet does not rule by it? Would you support saddam or gaddafi if you were in Iraq or Libya if they built schools and hospitals in your area?

So you totally agree with Lib dems policies?

Even if it was halal to vote for someone who will rule with other than Islam don't you think that voting as individuals would never get the result we want and that we should vote as a community. If you have one Muslim voting for lib dems and the other conservative then what are we trying to achieve?

If a muslim woman became a prostitute and start working in the brothels that lib dems want to open what can you do to stop her?

Just as partaking in a good action will give you a part of the reward even after you die, when you vote for lib dems and they start building brothels you will have a share in the sin.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Raihan: I'd vote on the basis of voting for individuals who are good for my constituency and anti War..they maybe labour ..but are mostly Lib Dem or Respect.

If the candidate values that real vote bank they will oppose policies which I am opposed too..or risk losing my vote ..but boycotting elections is a silly way to register a protest..in the First Past the Post Electoral System we are voting for individuals.. in the end..

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Zakk,

Even though you vote for the individual , it is the party's policies which are in effect when the candidate is elected and you will have a hand in that.

It's not about boycotting elections, voting for a candidate who will rule with other than Islam is haram.

The reasoning to vote for such a candidate hasn't been thought out as well. Anyone who thinks that parliament has an effect on policy or that your vote will effect foreign policy is extremely naive.

National interest drives foreign policy without any regard for any religion or muslim voters.

We seem to forget that without the compliance of our rulers there would be no Iraq war. There would be no war if the west was refused airspace and bases.

We should work to change systems in our lands in our favour instead of western states changing systems and replacing old puppets with new ones.

Don't you want to live under the shade of Islam? or do you want to live under British law forever?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

^ you've lost me? define shade of Islam for me..define Muslim laws..if on the strict interpretation..your argument would apply to Muslim nations as well..

Re: Blair’s Britain?: Elections called for May!

The Islamic state or Khilafah or whatever you want to call it. The argument does apply everywhere because there is no Islamic state.

There is no such thing as ‘strict’ interpretation, you can have a literal interpretation, fiqhi etc. ‘Strict’ is a western viewpoint of a Muslim who follows Islam in all matters i.e. properly

I found something that expresses the same sentiments as mine:

Excerpt from ‘Its on us’

I see these cats in the Masjid wired and strapped to get believers arrested stabbing our backs with a knife hand-made by MI5. Infact its blade forged from hate in blood pacts with rats. New York New York wolves cry in sheep clothing. Jenin our scars our wide open - hoping truth wakes these fakes when God’s words are spoken, but these fakes they take God’s words as token gestures. And wash their bloody hands with soap and plug their mikes in government amps promoting lectures .To integrate the false with truth a mouthpiece for the Beasts our Prophet (SAW) fought with proof. And still they keep scoping corrupting our youth. In elections push voting your soul in a booth, that’s red with blood, please do me favour, when Conservative pigs and New Labour enslave us. And Respect and Lib-Dems are carrots to tame us, for lame ducks with no self respect and aimless. Baghdad’s ransacked now who the hell’s gona save us. Killed our moms our dads brothers sisters and neighbours. Now they sit back, laugh and say they made a mistake when our children are sodomised in Abu Ghraib. And still you wanna poltically participate in nations that breed nothing but greed and hate. Snakes that breed fakes that guide to hell’s gates, mosque pulpits built with secular brick and slate. Lords and MPs, bate scholars, police, ISBs MCBs configurations of these stand shoulder to shoulder feet to feet microphone in their holster warmly greet, believers with salams and outstretched arms then on the radio speak say our boys are British soldiers. And pray for them they do dua for these vultures that rape and pillage, plunder burn and torture, they lay for them, turn us prey for them. I’d rather die I swear to God than betray like them.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

postal voting form, got it last week...still unsure as to which tosser to vote for, has anyone voted yet?

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

You all better do the same amount of apologizing that we did when Bush won for the second term. I expect a website with all the apologies running within 48 hours.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Muslims have particpoated actively historically in multiple non Muslim countries and have always attempted to respect the laws even if they did not agree with them..consider the Muslims of the first Hijrat to Ethiopia, or the Muslims of Sicily or Spain, or China or Southern India..they all opposed the government of residence when there was a direct threat to them..particpating in politics which leads to better education, tackling drug abuse and providing proper healthcare is something no Muslim should oppose...the Khilafat movement if you feel the need to devote your energy to it ..feel free but this election is here and now..

AJ: If the elections were Presidenrial I am sure Blair would lose lol

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Muslims did not participate in the system. When the Negus asked the questions the Muslims responded with Quranic ayahs. Muslims were not part of the system. They were seeking asylum there.

The reason why we have so many problems is that we don't have confidence in our ability or the ability of Islam to solve problems and we worry what they might think if we say to them it is our understanding or conviction that no one has the right to legislate other than Allah(swt). We need to stop apologising for Islam as we have nothing to be ashamed of.

We will never better our community unless we organise as a community and take charge of our own politics. Like I said before if a Muslim girl ran off with a sikh the political parties don't view this as a problem neither do they view Muslim youth smoking weed (as they want to legalise this) or drinking alcohol.

Re: Blair's Britain?: Elections called for May!

Muslims served to the level of Minister as far back as the Crusades..even under the Mongols..

How do you take control of your community without voting if not for local councillors or Mp's? regardless of whether it's a Muslim state or not?
