Market is up 4 pct from the trough on Black Monday. In spite if dropping 0.8 pct today.
Shows it is very difficult to predict short term movements. All one can do is look for significant over or under valuations and rebalance periodically.

Market is at 2015. When thread opened I think it was 1880. So up 7.5 pct.
It is all about asset allocation and rebalancing. Those who sell AFTER downward move and buy AFTER upward move should not be in the market in the first place.
