^thanks, also when I remember once on GS someone mentioned that some alims ask about your mother’s name and your name and do hisab? what is that about? I have also heard about this, and I am not talking about evil alims but rather naik alims and they do roohani alim. how can you tell someone that are cursed with black magic just by knowing their and their mother’s name?

As mahool already mentioned, these details/items are used to identify to the jinns involved. Whether a person is afflicted by black magic or not is something that is unseen to us, but visible to the jinns. That’s why they ask for those details.
