wow Sarwat opposite Fawad Khan - I can't picture the two together.....seem like such an ODD pair. No wonder he dies LOL!!! ;) It would be exciting to see MJ direct Fawad Khan. Haissam did such a great job directing him in Dastaan and Akbari Asghari. I hope MJ is able to get some acting chops out of him. on a side note, Fawad is working in dramas quite a bit now after Dastaan...hmm....hope he doesn't overdo it.

Thanks for the novel links, I've now read both of them in a couple of days, and what an exercise it was as I haven't read any urdu in a while.
I'm also disappointed that MJ is casting Sarwat for this serial, she was just average in Malal. :-/

I no longer feel excited about the dramatization of this novel...thanks to Sarwat. I firmly believe that right cast can add so much life to a play. For example, the story of Humsafar is average in my opinion, but the stellar cast has made such a huge difference.

Anyone who have read the novel wouldnt choose Sarwat for Haniya’s character, How could a director of such caliber could not see her NOT suitable for the role (Not that I hate sarwat, I honestly think she did pretty well in Malal)
Bet someone drugged Mehreen during the casting process

Mataa e jaan hay tu is full of passion , desire and love. I doubt that Mahreen can capture the intensity of it or our actors can perform that well. They will ruin the whole thing.

Adeel seems to be a good choice, I think Shazia from mera naseeb (cant remember her real name)would have been good for this role as haniya was not portrayed as most beautiful girl in the world but she was rather extremely attractive which Shazia is and we all know she can ACT (loved her in Mera naseeb)

Aiza Khan - Ajiya of Tootay huway per, and the one opposite to Fahad Mustafa in Pul-e- Siraat ie 'Momina' . .
Sajal Ali is the 0ne who played Suhaaii role in Mastana Mahi...
i really like Aiza Khan's acting...she is a good actress....

Aiza is very fine actress… you should c her acting in Pul-e-Siraat and Totoay huway per…the drama pul-e-sirat is v b0ring but Aiza is really Good… !!!
just like in ham-safar… Khird was 19 yrs old girl 8-10 saal chootii Ashar se..does Mahira look like a teenager from any angle? they seem to be of same age group.. . :bummer@ saara maza kharab ho ra. . . ..and so is the case with Sarwat. . she d0esnt look/sound like 20 yrs 0ld. thats y i think Aiza or Sajal are better…

I just can't seem to imagine Sarwat in Haniya's role. Doesn't make sense :( Yes Sanam Saeed could have done really well as Haniya.
As for Aiza she's definitely a nay ...but Sajal I haven't seen any of her plays so can't comment. Yes she is pretty though
Waise IMO even Naveen is acting well in Humsafar as Sara.

Well, then someone must have drugged her during the reading of Neeyat’s script too! 
I would have thought with her calibre, she is given a free hand with the major decisions like casting. Sarwat Gillani is good at acting but I think her looks for some reason limit the roles she suits. Mehreen should have gone for a younger looking girl. I really hope it is not a disappointment like Neeyat was.

Seriously everytime I watch Neeyat I cant help but think is she the same person directed Malal and Daam.... Neeyat HAVE to be awarded the worst drama of the year with no storyline and acting whatsoever... I still can't figure what is that drama about :/
