Because he's got a lot more where that came from. And of course, its his money! He does enough to help others but at the end of the day, why shouldn't people spend their money the way they want? As long as its legit, who cares?

Exactly. I don't know how many times I've heard "...if they didn't have oil..." Do they not have any other thriving industries in the middle east? Is Dubai really going to turn into aefganistayn :p once the oil runs out?
Dubai is just a small city (Oil contributes less than 5% of the GDP) but as a whole it is important to the UAE. Well oil/gas is important to all the countries. Its a natural resource just like other countries have timber, coal, cotton or iron/copper, etc... So I find it funny when people say 'When the oil runs out...' when you could just as well say that about every single country in the world. Also the fact that this oil goes everywhere.

Really? The world would be in a huge mess if oil ran out. You'd be the one suffering you know?
You do know there are alternatives, right? and with time they are only going to get more viable.
Oil will run out (its not a renewable resource) and when that day that comes hopefully we can say goodbye to the saudi sponsored extremism in pak and all these idiotic displays of wealth.
