I’ve observed that this attitude of “follow the crowd” is quite prevalent in many aspects of everyday life. Something I find rather unwise is the manner in which some people defer every important to their “elders” or other people and allow them to make major life decisions for them without considering whether or not such people are equipped to make wise decisions on certain matters. The same is true of people who make important decisions based on what their family thinks without realising that the majority can be wrong and that just because many people agree on something, it doesn’t mean that they are correct. Personally, I think that important decisions, or any decisions really, should be made by whomever is the most informed on the subject and best equipped to make a wise decision.

So, you don’t follow the crowd…
