We Pakistanies when hate someone, often find them pure evil with no goods coming out of that particular personality/group. Zardari was victim of the same. We hated Zardari for whatever reasons, and due to hate we missed what this guy delivered in Last 5 years.

Let us start from February 2008 - When PPP won the elections and was about to form its govt. The challenges at hand were

1. Sindh was ready to break federation.
2. Balochistan was considered a lost case.
3. Swat and most parts of KPK were lost, ANP was considered anti-state.
4. Flour crisis, created by Mushy govt and its cronies
5. Sugar crisis, created by Mushy govt and its cronies
6. TTP and terrorist threats was all time high, attacks of FIA building Lahore, ISB Hotel, GHQ, KAMRA, etc
7. All in all, situation was dark and unclear…

five year down the road…

Sindh, Balochistan, Swat, Majority of FATA areas back in country
relatively more peace
no Sugar, Flour crisis anymore
TTP restricted to S/N wazirstan where army is kicking their asses and they are killing each other as well

we should give the credit where due, despite my hatred towards Zardari and PPP, he is the man who gave us Pakistan of 2013, which everyone thought will break apart in 2011 or 2012. For the first time, Zardari govt was able to transfer power with peace and this is the prime reason Pakistan’s performance is relatively better than before.

I would say, well Played Mr. President, many would not acknowledge what you did, but the history would remember you man with nerves of steel.
