Best of Anwaar Qureshi

Re: Best of Anwaar Qureshi

This week's Poet - Anwaar Qureshi

Anwaar Qureshi has been a very enthusiastic guppie since he joined GS on Novermber 1st, 2002. However, his first contribution for GS’s poetry community came on 12 August, 2003. Since then, Anwaar has contributed 83 threads to Intikhaab and Shora-e-Gupshup. Anwaar is a fine writer and one of a few here on GS who has improved over the time. There are definitely some issues with his writing but than, who is perfect in this imperfect world? One main reason perhaps is that he does not take his writing skills and passion seriously. That’s probably why Poetry section got only 83 threads out of his over 500 threads posted on GS. Most of his poems are longish – a problem that he should work out fast, but they are very meaningful and are worth spending time with.

Being a writer, Anwaar has serious complains of inattention of members towards his poetry – and rightly so. That’s a big and the most serious complaint a writer could have. This feeling also factored in his decision to distance himself from poetry forum and post his work in his own journal. Most of his work reflects colors of real life. He has shared with us some very good stuff for which we are thankful to him.

Anwaar is a good writer and can be a very good writer. He is going through the phase of improving – and improving fast. I believe if he withstands cold manners of this community and allocates more time and attention towards his skills, he could do a lot better than what he is doing now. Best of Luck Anwaar :)

Anwaar has selected 10 of his best pieces for our reading pleasure. All these pieces are very dear to Anwaar for different reasons. Anwaar will be willing to reply any question about any part of this thread. Readers are welcome to praise, criticise his work ask questions or post views. Anwaar will be more than willing to get back.

Baa’zubaan-e-shaer…

Well, about me.. hmmm... My name is Anwar-ul-Islam Qureshi ... I was born and raised in Karachi and moved to New York at an age when I were to start under graduate studies; therefore, I got oppertunity to get education right here in USA. That explains the firm faith on the belief that I have on an ayah: Wallaho Khair ul Maakireen that is And Allah is the best of the planners Indeed.

I joined this site back in June 2000 with a nick name Shaheen with the only thought in mind that this is a bird highly adored in Iqbal's poetry a side fact: that I am a great great fan of Iqbal

It turned out that everyone took it as a female name and a quite a story to search in Cafeduring those days. I consider myself lucky and it's an honour to be one of those pioneers of Cafe who made Cafea cafe what it is today; senseless, cheap, bakwaas, boring, smiley-land and what not ... So guys please say thanks to me for bringing out an ever-cheering fun Cafe` for you.
