it's all about laughs.. do u know Leno's wife is Turkish?

Yeah its about jokes, but there is nothing funny about degrading another religion/race.

huh?? what ratings? Leno has grown total viewership since same time last year .. and while Conan beats Letterman in the key demographics he still gets less viewers than Letterman and almost half that of what Leno pulls.

Considering the fact that Conan comes in at 11:30 Central and Leno/Letterman come an hour early, both seniors have better chance of getting the audience, but Conan has been the better.
hate to nitpick here but it seems like every reply's addressing personal favorites instead of 2003's top host (original question?). SNL prolly shouldn't be on that list as it has a different host every night.
anyway, 03 was full of material for these guys to chew on. Letterman probably did the best Saddam/Dubya/war jokes and gets my vote.
Noone can replace Johnny though, the expressions on his face when turning to the audience to get a reaction, the spontaneity and the skits, just the general feel. These new guys rely way too much on cues and scripted mayhem (Letterman running out onto the street comes across as so 'controlled'). Not johnny, this was a host who knew how to carry a show.
*Have you ever seen Conan do the "Californian people" impression?! The guy is freakin' hillarious! And yes, it was his show that gave us the best puppet on TV ever; Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. Conan is one rare talent. People, That Is All.*
