Ok, it could just be hormones flaring...but it's best to see your dermatologist... sounds like you could have dormant acne, which could be treated with tretinoin and/or antibiotics. I think this issue is deeper than the epedermis....so superficial cleansers/creams available in drugstores (especially if they don't have a product licence number on the back) won't do much. :)
