Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

I think we have been tuned to take our governments as looters and corrupt. Corruption is not only a Pakistan specific phenomenon rather it happens internationally. It is not to defend any coruption case but just to put our understanding correct. In case of Mufahimat ord. cases are to be resolved in courts but to avoid political victamization the cabinet commitee has been added to go through them and then send to the courts. Lets hope things get better then the past and yes as Pakistan stood 2nd in corrution (as ranked by transperancy international) in 1990s, today things stand better by the same organization's standards which has put 41 other countries below Pakistan in this regard. I think we have to consider these facts and hope that things get even better in coming times.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Well, given the circumstances that Pakistan is going through the best solution to many problems is the reconcile the diferences and think about the future of the nation and the country. After all european nations after having been fighting for years in the history have turned to coming together then why cant we be having reconciliation in Pakistan. As regrads corupt politicians , let the election process take its course and they be sieved through in due course of time.

as someone else said that the same 'ranking' institute had ranked less number of countries in 1990s and the list has more countries now... so the comparison is not really something to be glad about.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

:rotfl: I predicted before the NRO was even promulgated that the CJ would strike it down, in line with Musharraf’s grand plan to dupe BB.

Re: Benazir-Musharraf deal: National Reconciliation Ordinance ready

Brother, I hope that Supreme Court declares that NRO is illegal ordinance and cannot be implemented, be that in its essences or sprite as:

‘NRO’ goes against the basic principle of justice as well as human rights of equality.

‘NRO’ goes against Islamic principle where justice should be same for all (whereas if corrupts are forgiven than Pakistani Nation full of poor and down trodden people whose wealth, future and prosperity these people have looted and plundered would not get justice).

‘NRO’ humiliates courts as it says that corrupts and thugs are getting ‘blanket pardon’ because court could not do their job and conclude their cases even after many years.

‘NRO’ slaps on the intelligence of Pakistani Nation and tells that Pakistanis as a Nation is such deteriorated people without any fight back in them that corrupt and thug Politicians and bureaucrats can loot and plunder them, and than from one ordinance get pardon of all their past sins and injustices to Pakistan and people of Pakistan.

‘NRO’ is one of the dark ordinance that any country has ever seen, where corrupts and thugs got blanket forgiveness and rights to take them to court on corruption and nepotism got dropped without court verdict.

It is no excuse that a case has taken so long to conclude that case should get dropped. Most of Pakistani cases do take years anyhow (due to inefficiency and corruption that exists in Pakistan Judiciary system). As for cases against corrupts, apart of inefficiency and corruption in Pakistan Judiciary system, most of them are taking long because corrupts keep trying to get the hearing delayed and some even left the country on various fabricated reasons, so that cases cannot be heard.

Supreme Court should tell Benazir that if she thinks that she is not corrupt than she should first sue American senate where she was discusses as corrupt, she should sue various British newspaper where she was labelled as corrupt. Same goes for Nawaz Shareef that before expecting anything from Pakistan, he should sue British Newspaper where he was labelled as corrupt.

Than after that she should come to Pakistani courts and clear herself from all corruption charges. Chief justice should set up a new bench so that bench should look at all corruption charges and conclude that on merit as soon as possible, so that no one gets excuse that Pakistani courts cannot conclude corruption cases.

Here are few of BB and Zardari cases from western sources:

If Benazir was not corrupt, is it possible that American Senate would have discussed her corruption so that they can change their banking law? If Benazir and Zardari are not corrupt, she should first sue American senate for their discussion about her (and her husband) corruptions and labelling her (and her husband) as corrupt. Read her case discussed in American senate on American senate site. She (along with her husband) is discussed in this long report to Senate (2nd case history: Zardari case) in some details, that comes somewhere in middle of Senate report: (2) Asif Ali Zardari Case History

U.S. Senate: 404 Error Page](U.S. Senate: 404 Error Page)

Regarding involvement of Zardari in drugs

If Zardari is not involved in such cases, than he should sue Sunday Times (UK) before bragging to Pakistan public that he is not corrupt smuggler.

Abstract from ‘The Sunday Time (UK)’ 23 February 1997: Pakistan: Drug sting on Bhutto’s husband

The husband of Benazir Bhutto, deposed prime minister of Pakistan was targeted in an undercover drug sting by American government investigators working alongside a British Scotland Yard informant. Pretending to represent the American mafia, John Banks claimed to have secretly recorded five hours of conversations with her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, discussing how drugs were going to be shipped. Banks claims the investigation was halted when the CIA said it did not wish to destabilise Pakistan. [Sunday Times (UK) 23 February 1997]

Further from: The Sunday Times 12-04-1998 regarding BB and Zardari corruptions:

If Benazir and Zardari are not corrupts, than they should first sue ‘The Sunday Times (UK)’ on story about their (BB and Zardair) corruptions (as well as American Senate). Actually there are hundreds of such reports available in western press for them to sue and clear their name.

Here is one of many NS cases that came in British newspapers:

Guardian (UK) 24 October 1999 analysis and accusations on Nawaz Shareef corruptions, atrocities, plus freedom of press:

One should remember that British newspaper (like ‘The Sunday Times’) like Pakistani newspapers could not publish rubbish and fabricated stories about someone without proof (where they believe they can defend themselves in court), as they can be sued whoever they accuse without proof for heavy compensation.

If Supreme Court (and CJ) struck this ordinance as illegal and stops it to get implemented (as they should do) than I would consider this as a major gift of Supreme court and Chief Justice to Pakistan, something as compensation to whatever wrong they may have done in past.
