yeah it is less hassle.. but in the end i guess its what your comfy using - plus I was on a very high dose of tricylcen before and my hormones were all whacked and i forgot to take the pill.. the patch didnt suit me.. and well that made my gynea recommend the ring.. and well everything has side effects.. but it all depends on what suits you!

I spoke to my nurse recently about BC and we discussed best option for us (the pill).** She has prescribed microgynon for me and said that I should start taking it from my next period.**
I told her I didn't need it yet, but she thinks I should take it now in case of any side effects and that way I can change the pill before the wedding.
What have other people done? I don't want people (extended family and friends etc) to find out as they will think "gosh, she's keen to get started.." or think that there is something else going on..
Is the nurse right about side effects? She said I could get weight gain or nausea and headaches if this wasn't the right pill for me...
I use this and find it ok, makes my periods lighter and more tolerable, been on it for ages. I didnt get any of the side effects you've mentioned.

I agree with Deeba. I was on this pill for 3 years and Alhumdullilah it suited me very well. You must start well in advance for the pill to be effective. No weight gain for me at all but for every woman it varies and period was much much lighter. I came off it and became pregnant within 3-4 months Alhumdullilah.
