Surprisingly enough, it IS quite possible to get pregnant without having sex. Sperms are quite adept at swimming to their intended destination. And there are active sperm in most males' "pre-ejaculate"...so "pulling out" prior to ejaculation is like playing russian roulette. And should a woman take ejaculate from a used condom and place it in her vagina well theres a pretty good possibility of pregnancy if she happens to be fertile. Yes, the story posted here is QUITE suspect....but it is NOT out of the realm of possibility. The hymen can be broken for reasons other than sex...horseback riding has been notoriously shown to break the hymens of virgin girls.
PCG - in your culture... how acceptable is homosexuality??? Not saying that that is the reason here, but would a man seriously go against tradition and family if he was and refuse all women brought to him without raising eyebrows at the least. How about an arranged marriage where he loves someone else... that could cause it... but less likely than the first one.....

Sara - as far as virginity, yes, the hymen can be broke and a technical virginity can be taken by all you said didn't..... I had a doctor when I was 19 who was a military doctor and didn't realize I was a virgin who actually ripped the heck out of me with a larger speculum than I could take, I bled for a few days.... I sued and got him fired, but it certainly took my "technical" virginity.... Sexually though, I would have been considered a virgin... depends on the definition....
Well the danger here lies in that virginity = hymen, when that is not the case. Many desis and muslims in other countries have this archaic concept that if you dont' have a hymen, it means you're NOT a virgin, when that is NOT the case AT ALL.
Minah Pa - you miss a point here that she mentioned. She has medical trouble - so she can't have sex (I don't know what medical trouble you could have unless if sex is painful, and there are treatments for that to some extent) - so her husband can't have sex with her - and therefore no pleasure/no kids - so he's issuing a divorce.
Its pretty obvious he wants to have sex and that he wants to have kids - even if he is practicing homosexuality or desiring to.
You can be homosexual, but there is nothing that says you are not physically able to have sex with a woman. You totally can, if you wanted to. It might seem more like doing a 9-5 job than actually a pleasurable experience, but if he wants kids/family, then he'll do it.

Who cares how she became pregnant? If it isn't her husband's child, I'm sure he'll do whatever it takes to find out whose it is. The lady seems to be on crack, no offence.
Administer a DNA test to determine paternity. If it's her husband's child....problem solved. If not...they can sit down and try to rationalize...or kiss each other good-bye.

I have a sort of off topic question.... In the Catholic faith if you have problems with your marriage... you can get councelling from a priest until the issue is resolved and this is usually mandatory before a divorce.... is it the same with Islam?... do you have the same option available?
