Re: BB's not a national loss
Death of BB is a great loss. No body can feel its gravity more than me as three young children in their tender age lost their mother same as I lost my mother two months back. A husband became lonely like my father in his old age who I see though did not speak a word but how he feels loneliness in his old age. With the death of my mother the whole system of my home has dismembered. But to me BB’s death is not a national loss. It is loss of his family, his party and to his followers but not of nation. If one is not emotional but is honest and judicious he can well understand it from another side. In the Press Conference Asif Zardari disclosed BB had left a Will appointing him as Chairman of the party as the leadership is in inheritance. This is another mockery of the so called democracy. Notwithstanding however when a newspaper reporter demanded copy of the purported Will the curt reply was that it is a family paper and all family members have read it hence no copy. It is universally believed there is nothing personal of a “national leader”. Even the personal life of a national leader is open like a book before the public. This so called Will was not concerning disposal of “palaces, Swiss bank accounts” etc but about the “politics” of the party. Though not in clear words but some surprise on the Will has been shown by many quarters the existence of which was never known in her life. The existence of a Will in one’s life is never a secret except its contents. Likewise when indirect questions about inheritance in the party was raised in a TV debate senior PPP leadership tried in vain to explain that Asif Ali Zardari did accept the will of late BB and became Chairman. However being a wise man Asif after acceptance transferred this chairmanship to Bilawal on the ground that “third party” will not mentally accept him (Asif) as the Chairman. The “third party” psychologically accepts only Bhutto hence Asif delegated his authority to Bilawal. When on TV it was asked which the third party, the PPP answer it was the “people”. The question is then why to deprive copy of the so called Will to this “third party” as the contents of this so called will are entirely and exclusively concern this Third Party namely the politics. Working in Pakistan I resigned which was not accepted because I was treated a very important and efficient employee. My big government company was always in loss. I ran away from Pakistan for Saudi Arabia. After two years the company was running in profits. With BB or without BB Nawaz Altaf, Pakistan is to remain as ever hence departure of BB is not a national loss at all. The national loss was Quaid-e-Azam which was a unanimous charm for all, not for a 20 to 30 percent. She is also not Shaheed is being labeled. She was known as anti Islamic. She did not die fighting defending attack on Islam or for Islamic Republic of Pakistan but she died fighting for securing the top seat. After daily Khaleej Times of Dubai the second best newspaper of middle east is the Gulf Daily News which is published from Bahrain. Its Chief Editor the owner of the biggest publishing house of the country. He is married to a Pakistani women and is I think the biggest authority in the world on Ilama Iqbal. His writing is very honest and writes like Irshad Ahmad Haqqani. In his big editorial he is surprised how the Pakistani nation was mourning on a leader who had plenty of corruption cases against her. He details many giving references. But most pity he showed was that the people are wailing for a such a leader who always claimed herself from and for poor but her own children were living in most posh Dubai villa and her Islamabad house is a platelet place. The PPP is demanding investigation from international commission etc. Its leader yesterday stated since 1947 including Liaquat Ali Murder no enquiry has ever been completed and report made public. It is quite right. Hence question is did her father make Humoodur Rehman report public? Why did not she complete despite sitting on PM chair and make public report of her own’s brother’s death. Why did not she demanded and continued pressed for full investigation and making public report of her brother who got poisoned in Paris? The fact is no political party of the day and no political leader has any interest with Pakistan and its people. Like BB, Ijazul Haq too when is on chair never remembers about death of his own father but when in opposition starts demanding reopening of case.
Very good assessment and analysis.
